    Got Rats?

Holy Smack! You guys have got me jonesin' for a Rat now (never thought I would be this pathetic  )! How fast do they grow and what do I keep them in while they are small. I wanna grow my little guy (or I heard fems were preferred) but I don't want it to outgrow it's house in a...

    Got Rats?

Anybody seen those shirts with a snake head that says "Got Rats?"...those are cool. Anyway, the real reason I started this thread is because while I was learning my docent info at the zoo I fell in love with the two rats we had for displaying to the public. They are so cute and frisky. Does...

    Tell me more - OBT

me2 We, too, recently acquired an OBT sling. We have a thin layer of peat moss in there and it has already started webbing a bit. It has made a nice little tunnel in the substrate. There is no water dish at this time...how often should you mist these little guys? I've read that the older...

    spider tattoos

There have been many tattoo threads but I don't remember any "spider specific" ones. I must say that that is a great spider tattoo. I, too, have wanted to get a spider tattoo but I need an image that represesnts all types, not just a specific tarantula(I love too many). With that being said...

Mature Male or Reeeeeaally Slow Growing King Baboon

She knew.... Checked the container today and noticed the exuvia up against the glass. From what I could see the size difference is noticeable and it still looks rather plump. It seems that way but I can barely see through the substrate....I guess I could be wrong. I guess I'll have to wait...

Mature Male or Reeeeeaally Slow Growing King Baboon

for the most part it looks female-ish but I haven't had a T this small go that long without molting. Will sometimes web up the entrance to the burrow and neglect some crickets so I often think it's in premolt and don't feed it for a few weeks. Then nothing happens and it takes the food I offer...

Mature Male or Reeeeeaally Slow Growing King Baboon

Got a Crawshayi juv. in the summer of 2002 and it molted a couple of times but I was checking out the molt records and noticed that it hasn't molted in over a year now. It is only about 3.5 to 4 inches big right now and I'm not sure if a mature male would stay that small. Anybody know or have...

what do u all use for water dishes for ur large T's

I also use the clear plastic flower pot saucers. I just dig them into the substrate so they are level with the ground. They are all types of sizes and they only cost like 25 cents so you can change them out frequently if they get all hard-waterish or whatever.

    Brachypelma emilia & klaasi

You jerk, When I got my B_Smithi I told my wife that it would be the last T for a long while. Anyway, while shopping at Petco I noticed a B_emilia mixed in with the Red-Knee special. Now that I see your beauty.............maybe she won't even notice;)

    Gimpy legs!?

I've been keeping a couple of Emps for a few years now and this is the first time I've ever had one molt on me. She was already pretty big before and if anyone molted I thought it'd be the smaller guy. Anyhow, after the molt it seems that the 4 legs on her left side are contorted and deformed...

The Happy Face! This is one of our favorites These are from Hawaii, hopefully someday we'll get to visit and see one in the wild. Personally, my favorite spider is the Portia but I don't have any pics right now. I'd love to see some if anybody else has some available

    Average Price On Red Knees?

The Smithis that were going for $99.99 at Petco are on sale to PETPals for $39.99. That's a pretty good price considering they are about 2". I'm picking one up tomorrow.........I've never bought an actual living creature from Petco, hopefully it has been well taken care of. They look nice and...

You thought T blondi's were big!

I thought the original "Alien" was inspired by a certain kind of copepod from "the Deep Sea".....or so it says in the Blue Planet DVD.

Pretty cool website I voted for my favorite genus but I didn't check out much more 'cause it was kinda hard to read with the dark red against the black IMO(maybe it's just my computer)
