    Just got a new spider

I do have a new container lined up for my haplopelma, although I'm thinking of getting another Haplopelma and giving the new tank for that new T instead. Don't fancy disturbing my current so soon after it made the effort to burrow itself.

    Just got a new spider

I'm confident I could find someone to make sure my splitting of the tank would be successful, I can't quite imagine how people are getting it wrong, unless T's are able to break through glass or something. Also, I know a guy who makes tanks, he cut me the largest I have (the one I want to...

    vertically seperating a tank help.

What kind of idiot would divide a tank but leave room for either T to get to the other? That doesn't make sense. The only valid reason I've read here for not doing this is the "male would be driven crazy". But I'm not expert enough to know much about that reasoning. But if you want to go by...

    Just got a new spider

I didn't realise he would web like that, I guess I should have, thanks for the tip I shall get right on to it. I put my T in that case because I was told it was better to use a smaller case to begin with. I do have a larger class case, its about.. 18x22 inches I think, quite big. I was...

    Just got a new spider

I guess I'm going to see a different tarantula now he has a much more impressive burrow than he had before: I woke up this morning to find he/she had created a much better burrow, touching the bottom near enough, and it's right on the side so I get to see my T at all times :)...

    Just got a new spider

It's good to know, I did wonder whether or not it was a bad sign from owner perspective. Since I know my other T does react to everything like that. I am corrected, defensive rather than aggressive. It's just I keep reading thing which label them as aggressive, which gives the idea that they...

    Aphonopelma seemanni weird behavior...

My initial thoughts without reading the text were "Scary looking abdomen". I'm not experienced enough to help you out. Could someone tell me what it meant by "ICU"?

    Scrunchy Rose

If I was forced to guess I'd go with female also. I know the experts here will say you can't tell just by looking, but still, it doesn't look like my mature male. I want my other T to be a female, also need to get my G. Rosea a female ;) If you want better (more accurate) opinions on the...

    What do you think?

could you guys help out those who know little about sexing? Like, how did you come to the conclusions you did? What is it you look for?

    Just got a new spider

I don't like starting new threads. But was wondering something else. When I mist this T's tank, is it strange behaviour that the T doesn't move when I do this? I can literally spray around it (with flecks of water hitting the T) and it doesn't move? It's suppose to be an aggressive species...

    Scrunchy Rose

Is that a female? I have a mature male, and yours look, well, larger, which females are I believe. Also, it's all good, normal. I bought a Haplopelma (minax or longipes, not sure) the other day and it did the same thing when I first put him/her into it's new environment. Now its made a...

    Male or Female

I can't help since I know little about T's. But having read on the forums I'm pretty sure the people here need a picture of the T from underneight, since that is where it's "bits" are.

    Molting chilli rose?

Yeah, it would be nice if he didn't die too soon, was my first T so the sentimentality of it is there :( The sperm web was probably the most interesting thing I've seen him do yet, probably more because I had no idea what his plans were lol. As for getting him a girlfriend, I think I will...

    Molting chilli rose?

Ah! This is interesting! I had not thought of that possibility, I've had him for over a year without a molt, so I thought perhaps it was time, though I was sure he was fully grown :D Tibial hooks, I'm not sure actually, I will have to take a look when I get home :) Palpal bulbs, also not...

Pet Shop Rescue? Is it all bad?

I can see the argument for this, although you have to think of how effective and realistic is actually is.. I'd say it's not going to be effective or realistic, since you'd have to go beyond those who have owned T's for a long time, beyond those who care enough to stand and realise the cause...

    Molting chilli rose?

This was about two days ago when I woke to find my T had made himself a web, and then began to trying and fit himself under it so he was lying on his back. This failed as the web broke, but then he decided to try again (I saw him try this 3-4 times, each time the web broke). So now, I ask was...

    Just got a new spider

Difficult getting clean pictures unless it's daylight unfortunately. The T is still quite young I think, since it's not very big. say about 3" legspan, haven't measured it but I'd say that was quite an accurate thought. Out of curiosity, what about my T makes you think it could be female?

    Just got a new spider

I had a look on the web and yeah, my T looks different from the one you listed, though similar indeed. Update on my T, he made his little burrow larger: Having looked into it more and more, I'm inclined to believe it's a haplopelma Minax. It'll be interesting if I turn out to be wrong...

20 of 24 of my tarantulas are in premolt

How do you know when a T in is pre-molt? I've never witnessed it myself yet.

To hold, or not to hold?

Haha! Not sure why but that didn't enter my mind, it's a nice thought, will have to try it out! If I were to handle my T's, I'd go the gentle way as you described there. Only for me, I don't see any sort of appeal from holding them personally. I prefer to leave them be in an environment I...
