    Need to be Worried?

If only a week, I wouldn't be too concerned. Give it a couple more, then investigate.

Bombing for possible Bed Bugs, suggestions needed.

    1. Bug bomb or fumigation may not kill bed bugs. I'd read up on this before you go this route, depends entirely on the method. 2. At 800 sq. ft., if you still decide to fumigate, I'd move the spiders out of your place and look for a sitter for a little bit. Don't know exactly what you have in...

    Most vicious eater

    A. Genic is beast, they are mean hunters, will go after anything, fearless. GBB, I don't know about most vicious, but it is a very talented hunter, I've seen it hang upside down in its web, wait, snatch, and then kill prey. As soon as you throw something in, the GBB knows where it is, its web...

    What tarantula should I get?

Green bottle blue. Fantastic hunters. Makes cool webs and uses the webs to hunt and find stuff. Also, the GBB is generally out and about and can be an active tarantula. They look cool too. Finally, very hardy desert species that is easy to care for.

Please help on my first pokie!

I asked a similar question a while back concerning getting a P. sling. Most people suggested raising a Regalis sling. The reasons were the Regalis is hardy, easy to raise and is more tolerable of humidity issues; Regalis is reasonably priced; and they look really really cool. So a P. Regalis...

It will be fine. Pictures won't harm it.

    Molting problem

3 x 3 may be enough depending on the size of the spider. They drink by lowering their front into the dish, so getting something a little wide but flat is easiest for them. It's probably good enough for now. Just keep it filled with fresh water from the tap. Anyway don't stress. If the molt is...

new to the hobby and asking for advice.

Yeah don't waste even $10 on a big pinhead jar. Even if you buy only a couple crickets that are larger, you can cut them in half and throw the half in your sling vial. Spider absolutely will eat it. Just give it a juicy piece of cricket or mealworm that's not too big and take out the piece 24...

    Molting problem

If it is an adult, if it were me I'd probably wait another couple days just to be safe. Good news is the spider has made it this far after the molt. Also make sure the tarantula has water in the case. Looking at those blurry pictures, I'd probably try and gently break off a big piece. After...

    Molting problem

Can you post a shot from above, not through the glass? Too blurry through the glass. It does look like quite a bit is attached, and perhaps you can gently trim or break some of it away. Then gently use qtip method to brush the rest away.

Couple things. First, do a broad search on spiderlings, feeding, and food. You'll find a lot of good information. Second, you don't have to feed pinhead crickets, but they are an easy option if you have quick access to them. But if you cannot get those small crickets, don't worry about it...

new to the hobby and asking for advice.

Quick advice on sling container: get something small. A 1/4" sling is really tiny and can be hard to see against substrate. You're going to want a very small vial, filled halfway with substrate. Nothing bigger. Anything bigger, and you run the risk of losing sight of the sling in a big deli...

In need of some expert advise

Here's a thread you may find useful: http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=176462 Out of your list, can you get two? If you can, get the Green Bottle Blue and the P. Regalis. You will really like the GBB. I picked one up based on recs here. It is an awesome tarantula. Does lots of...

Shame on me for being cheap.

Priority shipping isn't going "cheap." Priority is a premium service with premium pricing. What's more, even if you go priority, it may not even be a major delay. If the post office delivers early to your home, it may be the difference between getting the package as little as fourteen hours...

    G. Rosea? *shiver*

Growing carnivorous plants is, in my opinion, much more difficult than caring for most tarantulas. Most tarantulas are pretty hardy and like to be left alone, and feeding requirements are basic and easy. My few tarantulas are a breeze to keep healthy. It's why I like them: exotic yet simple...

    Uh oh!!! She fell!!

Respectfully, let's not debate the humidity issue, even though I know people are trying to be helpful. Suzy will give us an update tomorrow on the little guy. Good night everyone, I'm off for a late night sandwich and lemonade, and a warm pretzel, perhaps.

    Uh oh!!! She fell!!

Misting the cage is o.k. if it's too dry. But don't mist the spider. If the pet shop told you to mist spider, that isn't good advice. Don't worry if you did, you won't kill the spider misting it a couple times. Finally, don't stress. You are trying your best. Spiders are very hardy. They've...

    $.97 T-Home

Holes on the sides are ideal, but yes, those holes in the top should be enough, so long as you don't need really high humidity and there's no mold danger.
