Review by 'AmbushArachnids' on item 'NMTs'

Andrew reached out after he noticed I was looking for a MM H. gabonensis. We agreed to do a breeding loan. His communication was quick, 100% honest and to the point, which is a big plus as I'm a busy guy and can be impatient at times. I will definitely be looking to do more deals with him in the...

Breeding attempt, should I even bother?

    Great read, Hoping they survive.

I see we’ve devolved into character bashing. Your level of maturity is nearly zero. I understand science very well. Seems your the one confused if you don’t know the difference between a control and variable is. Where has anyone brought anything to this thread to disprove any of my findings...

Powerfeeding a tarantula works. I'm correcting that regurgitated misinformation touted as gospel. Its not a reptile practice. Thats entirely off topic and unrelated. Trying to dismiss it as such is willful ignorance. You've tried to drag this into another subject and compare my factual findings...

He who makes no sense has no sense in another’s sense because he knows he’s senseless. Hope that helps with your “confusion” or rather “sticking your fingers in your ears and screaming I’m not listening, boo!!” This is a great forum for information but topics like “powerfeeding is bad because”...

Who controls what and who I respond to? This is an open discussion and everything you say in the forum is open for opinion and response. There is no chain of command to follow and certainly you cannot use that old tired response with more effectiveness than the first ten times. If you don't want...

My data and experiences do not show any loss of health. Do you have proof to provide they are more or less healthy? What indicators would be present to show the health of the T that is grown faster to adulthood? I'm not seeing any less health in the sac production of these females being...

I've stated in my post that temperatures are controls for both groups of individuals. Where in any of my statements did I say temperature does not effect growth? I state temperatures are a control and not a variable in my data because both groups are kept at the same temperature. Thats how...

These are sac mates kept at the exact same temperature. The larger one is female and has been given as much as she can eat since 1” when her molt was sexed. The male has been given food on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. The only difference is caloric intake. The result is the female molts more...

Temps are the same for all the Ts. 75-80 degrees. The amount they grow with each molt and molt frequency directly depends on how much food intake they have regardless of temps. A T that doesn’t meet the nutrition requirements to molt will stay in that molt cycle longer. Also a T that has...

The term is interchangeable depending on the definition. In this case power-feeding is a simple term for supplying an abundance of food. Nobody has argued inverts grow the same as reptiles. Not sure where your reading that or how that’s a logical argument. Other than that’s just how you...

That’s simply an opinion. A different species than I previously mentioned but the practice has substantial benefits It’s hard to argue against evidence so here’s some logs I’ve entered from my social media page. B. hamorii growth from 2i to 3.5” Is below. I’ve yet to see any Ts supposedly...

It’s still relevant to tarantulas regardless of the origin of the term.

    Pink toe size and food

That’s a false statement. Power feeding is very much a tarantula hobby practice. They grow faster, molt sooner and grow substantially more when they are plumped up. I know this from first hand experience over a decade of this practice. I often use this to control the growth between males and...

Just rehoused my new 3.5/4" female H pulchripes 24 hours ago - she has shut herself off in her hide ? How do i feed her?

A hidden spider is a good thing. A visible spider is a hungry spider. Set it up fossorial as others have said. It may take months for it to start digging given a half hide but it eventually will.

    Gravid Female Care

All depends on the species. I don’t expect a lot of breeders to come out to this thread and offer much advice as alot of times it takes much effort and many failures to get specific species to produce a sac. (This has always been my experience.) As well as all the time spent caring for and...

    Leaving slings for some time

OP is asking about food. Not water.

    Two Balfouri communal...

Sounds like a bad idea to start a communal after they have been separated from a sac and established themself for a period of time. 2 slings wouldn’t be considered a communal so much as a duel. I would recommend getting a communal that’s been together or directly from the hatched eggsac.

    C. versicolor sling - Should we be concerned?

It will groom itself. Do nothing! 🙂

    What tarantulas should I get

I’m going to offer suggestions for each type.. Arboreal, terrestrial, fossorial. C. versicolor, B. boehmei, E. murinus.
