Lasidora Parahybana. I got mine a couple months ago, and they are really fun to own because they are such fast growers, and they get huge, and they are rediculously easy to keep. and the price is another factor that makes em awesome.
Yeah, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Rose hairs are crazy, mine is bi-polar as can be.
In fact, ive never witnessed a single rose hair that didn't have weird behavior occasionally.
So I think it'll be fine.
I receieved my king baboon about 2 weeks ago and it is acting rather strange. Im not sure what the problem is, but it is about 1" and it was fine when i got it. For the last few days or so it has been curled up tight in the burrow it made, but it donesn't have an appetite and he reacts pretty...
My gbb is about .75" and i got him only like 3 days ago, and he is already constantly webbing. So i think it happens pretty early. And i haven't actually ever witnessed a gbb whose cage wasn't coated in webs.
I think that is a great idea! There are A LOT of really ignorant people out there when it comes to tarantulas, and its probably a good idea to re-educate people sometimes.
but i think if you do you should get into the hobby yourself. It could only help.
My rose hair definately is prone to weird behavior, but I agree with the posts above, it sounds like grooming. Dont sweat it though, it freaked me out when I first saw my rosea do that. :)
GBBs are absolutely awesome!! I just got mine a couple days ago and i am in love with it. I got it for $45 on swift inverts, and it is amazing!! It is really active and fun to watch, and it ate right off the bat. its a pig. haha. :) they are a really cool species.
Personally, I don't think it necessarily means anything bad, possible molt coming up?
Mine do this alot actually, i swear every single one of my t's has a split personality disorder. haha.
But I think he should be fine, as long as he is still active thats a good sign.
I think that a simple cave for them to hide under would be adequate, thats what i used for the scorpions i had in the past, and they seemed to be fine with it.
And I enjoyed being able to ACTUALLY see them.
Wow. Thats a really good point. I didn't even think about that.
I would guess it would be the same situation with Haitian Brown tarantulas.
But i kind of doubt it would effect them much, because i think tarantulas and other wildlife around that area would be more apt to survive than the...
Thank you all very much! :) I very much appreciate the feedback.
You guys are all probably right.
I understand slings are a bit more likely to perish,
just due to the fact they are more fragile.
but again thank you for the advice.
Guess I'll just try again.
well im only 16, so i don't know much about the professional stuff, i like spreading awareness, just telling people about them, so many people have misconceptions about them, and in my experience just telling people simple facts about them is enough to get people at least interested.
idk. i...
well i don't have a camera, but it was kept in just a standard kritter keeper, idk if that helps, but i fed him 1-2 times a week, and misted his cage every other day or so, and i used bed a beast substrate, as i do with my other t's, its just so strange, im not sure where i went wrong.
I had a singapore blue sling, (0.75") and i had had it for a couple months, it seemed to do fine, ate regularly, but 2 days ago it was just suddenly dead. im not sure why this would be, that was the first of that species i had ever owned, so im a bit inexperienced with them.
but if anyone had...
Well, as of now i don't own any, but in the future i plan on legitimately owning an albino cobra. I will have more than this but this is the only one i am decided on. I will have a collection at some point though. :)
