I got my A.geniculata on September 15, 2011 as a 0.25" spiderling. Fed it once a week and it molted 5 times since then. The latest molt was on April 15, 2012 and it measured at roughly about 1.5" now.
Most of the time it appears that the bugs are just trying to escape from the arena. While I don't condone such activities, but truth of the matter is this is VERY popular in Asain countries such as cock fighting or pit-bull dog fighting here in America.
Nice pictures!!! :clap::clap::clap:
I have to agree with you, those Hadogenes troglodytes are pretty hard to come by. I've been looking for a mature female to mate with my male for the last 2 years!!! I have two babies that are growing slower than grass. lol
It depends on two things....How expensive is your order and how far do you live away from the online site you purchasing the scorpions from???
But to be honest, I had scorpions shipped from oversea or that had been delayed in the mail for a couple days, and they all arrived alive and stinging...
It's been exactly 6 months since I gotten into the T's hobby, and I figure what better way to celebrate than to ask other fellow tarantula enthusiasts what were their first couple of T's???
My first three tarantulas I ordered from a online website were: A 0.25" Acanthoscurria geniculata &...
I would have to say Androctonus mauritanicus is my favorite species....But my favorite scorpion would have to be my 6 years old female Hadrurus arizonensis pallidus and my male Hadogenes troglodytes. Mostly because the both of them are so docile. :biggrin:
Hey Jarvis....I have to say your H. Madraspatensis are quite a beautiful specimen!!! :clap::clap::clap:
I would love to get a breeding pair into my collection one day.
I never had a A. australis or their cousin the A. bicolor....But I do have a couple of Androctonus mauritanicus. Their quite the beauty of a specimen. So I'm going to be bias here and say go with the A. australis instead of the L.q :biggrin:
