That calms me down somewhat:) I'm thinking about doing a bit of renovation in that enclosure since I left the original background in and have come to realise that I don't really need it in with the amount of substrate used. The only issue is getting that T out:) I think it moulted about a...
I've been keeping my largest T.albopilosum in a 12 inch exoterra cube with plenty of substrate and I've recently spotted what has to be the corpses of two small dubia nymphs. The thing is that I've never fed nymphs to this guy and I've rarely ever seen it take down any prey once it reached...
My D.pentaloris has now reached his Final Form! I'm a bit conflicted about it since he's easily one of the prettiest Ts I have even if I don't really like the species now that I've had the opportunity to keep him. Can't quite explain that.
Thanks again:) That sounds easy enough, I think even I'll be able to pull that off and I'm not that great of a craftsman. I'll get around to that once I've emptied out the tank. The weird thing is that the wet spot on the paper backing on the bottom glass has disappeared now after the water's...
Thanks, I guess I just need a sheet of glass big enough to cover the crack then, maybe an inch or two on each side of the crack and the same extending along the line of it?
I recently got hold of a 30 litre shrimp cube at a liquidation sale for about a third of the regular cost. Unfortunately it's turned to have a 5cm (about 2 inches) crack in the bottom. Is it worth trying to repair it or should I just repurpose it for carnivorous plants?
Don't forget to put in a water dish, even if this is a species that can be kept very dry they still need some moisture and having that dish there will remind you to at least spray some water every now and again. I almost managed to kill my GBB that way, if I hadn't been up sleepless I wouldn't...
You know, I was having second thoughts about using the cable in conjunction with the styrofoam. Heat mats it is then if needed. The cable should be quite handy for when I need to dry out overly moist substrate before using it.
No broken wire as such, I have a spool of wire that I was planning on snipping into appropriate lengths and bending into U's that I was going to press into the styrofoam as staples holding the wire in place.
I have a 4.5m heating cable (2m of the cable doesn't heat up) that I was planning on using to provide some heat to a couple of terrariums (tarantulas). Is it feasable to fasten the cable to a styrofoam backing board put at the back of the shelves or would that melt the styrofoam? I was...
My T.albopilosum juvie decided to break its fast today with a nice semidead dubia after 99 days of sulking. I'd rehoused it and I'm reasonably sure it wasn't too its liking at all but its at least eating now which has to be a step in the right direction:)
I have to wonder if it would depend on if the tarantula was one of the species listed in CITES or one of the non-Indian pokies. It should be ok otherwise but checking the relevant countries' customs laws might lead you in the right way.
