    Texas Unicorn Mantis Communial?

With plenty of food they are communal until around subadult. Once they hit subadult, you'll want to separate them.

Just got a new mantis! It is awesome! Need advice...

Crickets work fine, but they will thrive and produce more with flying prey. Either catch it yourself or buy some housefly pupae from spiderpharm.

Just got a new mantis! It is awesome! Need advice...

Both the Texas and Arizona species are easy to care for. They like it warm, with a mist every few days. Flying prey is preferable.

Just got a new mantis! It is awesome! Need advice...

If it's flying like that, it's a male. As Galapoheros pointed out, the simple fact that it has wings at all means it is an adult. Adult males are timid and you will probably only get around two more months of life out of it, depending on how old it is. It will eat small prey and sparingly...

    Ant? Wasp? What is this?

Found this little critter in the greenhouse today. First thought was that it was a parasitic wasp after some of my ootheca, but I'm not sure. Found in California.

Consequences of Removing P. audax from her nest?

I had sold some P. audax recently, and they are due to be shippped early this coming week. The female was enormous, and I was pretty sure she was gravid. Well, lo and behold, I come home today to find her in a nest on top of a whole bunch of eggs. Here's the thing though. Is there a good...

    Aquatic predator...what is this?

It's about half an inch right now, so I'm pretty sure it's still just a young nymph. I plan on raising it through adulthood.

    Aquatic predator...what is this?

I accidentally scooped this little critter up when I was catching some tadpoles. I think he's been eating some of them, so I decided to separate him into his own cup. Can anyone identify it? It's about half an inch long. I'm thinking it could be a diving beetle larva? Or something along...

    The Experiment

TLX, I care! I'm Andrew who just signed up on the Venom List. I've got a queen of this species right now, as you know. This'll be very helpful for me. We've had warm weater lately and its getting warmer, the queen was somewhat active today, although it still freezes at night. I'll be...

    New Praying Mantis

Nice little mantis. Unfortunately, I think it will be very difficult to start guessing before it's an adult.

    B. dubia as "feeder beetles"...

Just buy the dam things. Keep em hidden for a while. That way, when your parents find out, you can say "I've had them for months. No problems. Why get rid of them?" Depends on your parents personality though. Heh. Well...my problems would end at the first sentence. My parents don't pay...

Anyone want to rate the letter I sent my roach-hating Dad?

The first paragraph sounds very, very immature. I'd remove it. Rest of it ain't that bad.
