I was just wondering what contributed into making some of the venomous Aussie animals so potent compared to some from the rest of the world. Not particularly about spiders just all venomous in general.

Well according to wikipedia, which I'm not sure how accurate it is, but it states that "Funnel-web spider venom contains a compound known as atraxotoxin which is highly toxic to primates." But once again I am not sure how accurate that statement is.
