Rosies are notorious for this behavior when they get older. I had one that didn't eat for that amount of time as well. I was really confused by her behavior.
I like the convenience. I like how I can go on vacation and come back and they'll be in the same spot they were I left them without feeding for awhile.
I think I'm definitely capable of doing it as I take very good care of all my pets. The problem right now is that I am in grad school and working at the sametime for the next two years so life is a bit difficult.
I've been trying to find a trustful breeder in Southern California I could...
This post is about my T. Blondi who happens to be a true T. Blondi female. I guess I'll start from the beginning.
I had just graduated in the summer of 2005 and decided to finally get a Goliath Birdeater. At the time, I didn't know that there were Blondi's and Stirmis out there, but I had met a...
But the light calms her down, and when it's off she crawls on the cage where it was. My room doesn't face the sun so it gets pretty cold. In the summer, I'll have it off for sure though.
Yeah, I keep humidity at 80. When I turn on the heat lamp she settles down and then goes back to sleep. I notice she crawls on the cage when the heat lamp is off, she climbs towards the heat lamp even though it is off. The heat lamp is on the opposite side of her home. It's 85 degrees F.
Is...
She's about 6 inches in diameter now and has been eating like crazy the last two weeks. Around a total of 25 crickets. She's also been out of her hide and has been crawling on the walls and rolling up balls of dirt and flipping her hide around. Her abdomen is also missing large patches of hair...
I'm not sure if she's hungry or if she's going to molt. She has been sticking around the entrance of the cage and she added some webbing to it this morning. When she does this I usually feed her, but this time she's pretty dark, so I was wondering if I should hold off the feeding and just keep...
hmmmm... she's been moving around quite a bit. I came home from the weekend to find her moving around a lot. The humidity had dropped but I raised it back up and the temp is about 75.
Is there something wrong or bothering her? She has never left her hide ever since she was a big as a bottle...
here are some pics of her. Can you ensure to me in the second pic that it is a her? I checked her molts as she was growing, and from waht I saw she was a she.
my T has a piece of dirt stuck in her mouth, it's pretty big compared to her mouth. She came out and tried to drink some water from the soil I have for her, and I think there might be a piece of it stuck in her mouth. Will this piece eventually fall out or when she catches something to eat?
oh, she molted a month ago, i've been feeding her.
Well I just bought some moss to keep the humidity up, and she's eating 3 crickets right now.
There have been these small tiny black flys in her cage, I'm hoping the heat will kill them since I'm going to start using a heat lamp, a night...
Well it's been a long time since I posted about her, she's grown to about 5 inches now. I've probably only fed her a total of 10 to 12 crickets, but last night it was cold, and she sealed her entrance up.
Do you think she is going to molt again? or it was just cold, or the light is bothering...
So the Tarantula Hawk, do they always win against a tarantula, what if they went up against a more aggressive one? On TV shows I always see them taking down docile tarantula species... and yes, it makes me sad all the time.
