I've got 5 slings and they are a nightmare, when it comes to doing anything with their containers. As soon as the lid is off, they are out like racehorses, the trouble is they only have about a 1.5" legspan at the moment, so I have to be very careful with them.
Hard as nails, with that attitude I reckon it's definitely a female !! :D
(I'll get some stick for that!! )
Great story and I bet any person reading it starts nodding upon reflection, I certainley know I did!
I was going to ask the same thing, I'm assumng it's an aussie species, what is it and what's it's venom potency like?
It is not a dumb question Sonofaglitch!! :shame: :D
I agree, unless some proof can be shown.
I have only found some that are for sale at the moment at an incredible price of £195 !!! Too rich for my wallet.
The cheapest I saw them for was earlier this year for £90 at the BTS show.
My babies are now about 1.5" and just had their second moult with me in the last few days, they are getting there but still have a way to go.
There's no denying that those are great photo's as usual and may I also add that if that's her pre-moult, you must place the pics on here of her post...

You beat me to it Evil!!! :D
In the past I have had two T's in particular, that spring to mind for their escape efforts, both were B.smithis.
Both had been in their respective tanks for a good time, had moulted in there and were quite settled.
One time, I caught one (an adult female) using 4 legs and her 2 palps to...
Considering how easy they are to keep, they are very difficult to get an eggsac from. Do a thorough search on here and you should find plenty of useful threads.
In my experience I have found them very easy to actually mate and they have always seemed willing and relatively quick.
Good luck!!
All I can add is, thoroughly examine everything you have done and fed in the last 3 or 4 days, as that definitely sounds like some outside influence.
And keep a close eye on your others. I would even advise to keep them seperate.
Best of luck
A few years ago, I had an enormous collection, which my better half helped me to take care of, and it took a lot of time.
Unfortunately I then had to sell the lot, due to work commitments.
However, 2 years ago I mentioned the fact that I would like to get just 'a spider' as I missed...
Hi Jeff,
Okay in answer to your questions:
I would block up the airholes on one half of the tank as it will provide too much ventilation and dry the substrate out too quickly. I would suggest the half that is at the hide end. They like higher humidity's but obviously not 'swampy', that...
I agree, I think that this is almost guaranteed!!! Sorry!
Regarding you other questions:
If she is not touching the moult and it is easily accessible (i.e. not disturbing the spider), remove the moult straight away. However, if she is on it or is blocking it, then leave it...
Cheers for the help guys!!!!
I knew you would come through, I have decided that should I be fortunate enough to get a sac, then I will go ahead and pull it at about the 30-40 day mark, as I also have a link to an incubator setup that is ideal for the developing eggs/eggs with legs. It has...
