Can Tarantulas see infrared? I know many bug-like creatures can see parts of the spectrum that we humans can't. Might it be really bright in his cage?

I'm pretty sure that my apartment is sprayed with pesticides. Or is there not a rule for isopods? Can I take them from my complex that was sprayed?
Me,
Charnoble
Hello,
In the good ol' town of Irvine, California there is no place that has not been pesticided. I went to a dirty old field that I thought had not been touched by anything. I turned over sooo many rocks and their wasn't an isopod in sight. Then I walked a little farther to find those...
Hey, it is me again,
The Chilean Rose I just got is starting to adjust more to it's new habitat. It has started to move out of it's corner and touch the water dish and such. And she seemed happy cleaning herself and standing really tall today. But I still have a question. She is really...
Stupid me, I should Search first before I ask questions. My cage is still a little damp from substrate problems earlier. Hopefully when (and if) it dries out completely the bugs will wither and die! I am praying that my roommate won't notice where the gnats in the room are coming from. He...
I don't know if they came from the outside or grew up inside. My new Chilean Rose's cage has little flying bugs in it. probably about 2 mm in length, some shorter, they are black or white. Maybe they are black on one side and white on another. I don't know what to do. Should I clean the whole...
I'm Charnoble, but my close friends call me "THE HULK",
I am a current student at UC Irvine in Southern California and double majoring in Dance and Astrophysics. I just got my Chilean Rose and have enjoyed watching it sit in the corner for 12 hours, then reposition itself in the corner only...
Ha, your T changed sexes during the sentence. I'm new to T's, can they do that?
jk. I know they can't . . .but can they?!. . . just kidding, or am I?
Me,
Charnoble
Nice arboreal cage. Will the arboreal naturally web in the log you put in there? because wouldn't the same problem apply to the top front corner where the top and the sliding screen meet? If the avic will just web in a log then the drawers may still be a viable option, no?
Me,
Charnoble
lol, I can't believe I spelled tarantula wrong. the "a" on the keyboard is kindof by the "u" *shifty eyes*. Hey I have other posts where I spell it right! Check for yourself!
Anyway, no, I don't believe the bottom of the containers serve as a top for the ones below it. I'm 95% sure of that...
So I know I am new to this whole turantula thing (3 days), but I have been planning for the future.
I was browsing my local target today and I came across these plastic drawer carts: Here
These seem terribly convenient and space efficient (though may or may not be price efficient). Ample...
Me
Yeah, I am a lifelong suffering of many allergies and much asthma. I have anaphylactic reactions to many things. Some triggers I have had since birth, a lot I have developed through constant exposure. Like Beef, ate it all the time, now I can't eat it withought shooting myself full of...
yes
The one I bought yesterday was doing the same exact thing. Climbing the walls, then the top, and now has been sitting in the corner. Good to know that other people are experiencing the same thing. I about stayed up all night last night to see if it was going to be ok, lol. Good thing...
Hello,
I probably am going to look really stupid, cause I am.
Planning to buy a Chilean Rose, one of the things I bought was eco-earth substrate. After putting it in water and letting it do its thing, it came time to dry it. It says in the instructions that to dry out you should lay it...
btw, I will be getting a Chilean Rose. Information specific to this species and tarantulas in general would both be helpful (just in case I get more in the future).
Thanks again,
Me,
Charnoble
Hello,
Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find a related topic when I used the search engine. If it sounds like I don't know anything, that is because it is true.
I am having trouble deciding on a place for my terrarium. I have been doing my reading and know about several...
