Hi everyone, I have a mature male X. intermedia. During its last molt it lost a pedipalp. I want to sell it back to the breeder who gave it to me so that I can put the money towards a female. Would this handicap decrease the value by 20%, 50%...?
Thanks,
Jared
ya i hear ya. it tries to bite through the top with its fangs though. i guess i'll just give it some time, hopefully it is some pre-molt behavior. Thanks for your help.
I usually notice the T's stretching after molts. I doubt this spider is in pre-molt as it molted a couple months ago although I guess it's possible. Kicked off a ton of hairs and the bald spot is peach-colored, no signs of darkening.
I'm trying to move all my spiders over to tarantula-cages.com type cages but couldn't get my hands on one recently so I settled for the standard fish tank.
No actually a bit on the drier side, but there's a water dish and i cover a good portion of the tank top for humidity. i have about 15 other spiders with similar setups that are fine. So I'm thinking it just may be a quirk.
Hi everyone, for the last month or so my subadult female P. Antinous has been vigorously trying to escape its enclosure. Humidity is fine. Temp around 75. No mites. At first I thought its enclosure was too small so I moved it into a larger tank but it did the same thing. I'm not too experienced...
Because I have a MF Rufilata and a MM Ornata and haven't been able to find mates for each. I put them together and it seemed like it might be going somewhere at first but I think JohnDapiaoen is right...they're just going to kill each other.
Hi, does anyone know if there's a difference between the northern berks reptile show and the northwestern berks reptile show because I found sites for each and both have different dates even though they're at the same location. Thanks.
Hi im in new hampshire and found a big dock spider. i did a search of this forum ("dock spider") and only a few blerbs came up but nothing really concrete. is there any site that has detailed info on food, sexing, care etc etc?
i found it on a sunny afternoon so im not so sure it can just warm up and fly away. i noticed it would curl it's body as if it was trying to eat its own tail. basically freaking out. so i would say either pesticide or old age. it's still in the same condition.
interesting. i wouldnt say it was hit by a car cuz there was no physical damage and it was far from the road. so one of the other two probably. thanks for helpin me out.
