I have always found them in the garden(pesticide free)or like webbedone said under logs or rocks. A few years back there was a lot of talk about them. If you search under pill bug or roly polies there should be some info, Someone even started a colony I think. I had about 8-12 in a 10gal...

My T's have never eaten pillbugs, I used to put them into the containers because they eat dead and decaying plants and cricket/roach remains.

My new curly hair T sling

Trust me you wont regret it. You will see a completly differeant side of your spiders at night with a red light. I think so many people feel their spider does nothing because they expect them to be active in daylight and that is just not the spiders way.

    Ever dropped a sling's container?

Today I grabbed my two sling containers that were stacked on top of each other. The top container fell, bounced on my thigh and then rolled down my leg right in front of an awaiting cat that proceeded to bat the container around. In a panic I almost dropped the other one, luckly the sling seems...

    my first T deaths

One of the few bad parts of this hobby, But be aware if you stay in this hobby there will be more. The worst part is eventually it will be a spider that was your first, and the one you had for 10 years. Trust me I know. Dont worry you will get through this.

My new curly hair T sling

In the past I used to do this, But I noticed that most of the time the tarantula would just turn into a pet rock. Since a bright light shining on them suddenly is very unlikely to happen in nature I stopped. Later I picked up a small, less powerful red light to observe my spiders. It works...

Are car rides stressful to T's?

I have had to transport a T for a 5 hour trip. I first put the T's contianer (I try to use short wide containers, that way the T would not climb to the top and fall, or the container will not tip over) on a soft pillow or cusion, the pillow was big enough that I could fluff the sides of the...
