Hi there folks. Went to the Lake of the Ozarks this weekend for an anniversary (11th) trip with my wife. As such, she declared that this was not "an excuse to take pictures of bugs". So I didn't have a tripod or a true macro lens with me, but I shot some pictures of the flora and fauna I came...
Excellent, and thanks for your help. Now I can reassure my wife that these aren't some kind of tiny odd-looking black widows. She was a little worried.

Hi there folks. I'd greatly appreciate any help you can give with an ID on this spider. My wife found three of them behind some stored boxes, with lots of egg sacs. They're about 1/4" across, if I had to guess, and make pretty disorganized webs. Sorry the picture isn't great - I just shot it...
Our babies are just starting to hatch, and they are gorgeous little guys and girls. Our first clutch of a yellow/orange breeding is just out of the egg and chilling on the basking branches in a holding cage.
Feel free to PM me if anybody wants some before I start posting them around in a few...
Those videos are amazing, Bell, although I wish you could have found some of me being more awesome than that. Maybe me and Cody catching the pygmy rattler might have inspired more of the eligible women watching. But seriously (and I mean this from Cody and I, and our wives), great videos...

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. I'm not sure a "don't tread on me" sign would work for my purposes, since I'm a libertarian anyway and I really want something that will never be mistaken for other than a real warning sign. Rev, I agree a show would be good -- I saw them at the Ohio show when...
some more pics
Christian is being a loser and taking way too long to get on here and set up an account. Thus, I stole my camera back and snagged the card. Hope you enjoy.

Hi there folks. I just got a nice copperhead that will be joining my collection in my reptile room, and I have been working out maximum safety venomous protocol. As such, he is in a locking cage that is labeled with the full description of species, and I made signs for the room (sealed as much...
picture repost
Per Brian's request, reposting pictures from the other thread here. For the narrative, check out the bug hunt thread under arachnofunctions
Hey there Cody. Yep, I took the copperhead home, and Courtney let me keep him/her -- we've been working out venomous protocols for my snake room today, but it is awesome. I set up the hentzi in a cage here today, and it took a lateralis, so I assume all is well. I've had him out handling him a...
Ok, my turn with the photos
I have to say I'm impressed with Cody's stamina, to get his photos up that quickly. I have to agree with his sentiments, though. The hunt was an unqualified success. We had the privilege of seeing some amazing inverts and reptiles in the wild, not to mention...
saturday arrival
Since I hadn't heard anything, I wanted to try again -- what would be a good time to make it down there tomorrow morning so as to hook up with everybody and not miss the beginning of the hunt? I have a 6 hour or so drive from Kirksville, so it will be a VERY early morning/late...
no friday
Looking more and more like we won't be able to get out of Kirksville early enough to make it down Friday evening. What time should we be there on Saturday morning to catch the beginning of the day's hunt? We can't wait to meet all you guys.
Kris
Hopefully coming
I'm working on getting plans together to make it down from Kirksville. Like Cody, we'd love to know what we should be bringing down with us to contribute to the group effort.

Hi there folks. I've used the search function without finding an answer, so I'm hoping that I'm not rehashing an old question. I have a breeding colony of dubia that I feed to larger vertebrates and spiders, but I am getting into lateralis in anticipation of clutches of bearded dragons later in...
all Ohio show
I will second the All Ohio Reptile Show in Columbus. I went there frequently in grad school, and there were always a couple tables that had some nice tarantulas.
Kris
Sorry I can't speak to invertebrates in the area, but the place is amazing. When I was in grad school my wife and I went down there for spring break every year (similar drive) to photograph herps. The diversity of snake species we saw was just great, and we love the whole low country region. In...
Hi there folks. Tried before to get an ID to no avail, so I thought I'd give the experts on this forum another shot at this bad boy/girl. Had her for about a year, not much growth. Defensive, but prefers to use the claws rather than the stinger. Was sold to me as a "tri-color burrowing...
