Review by 'G. pulchra' on item 'Jerm357'

Highly recommended seller, the roaches were in excellent heath and the way they were packed was the best I have seen from any seller. First class!

1 inch Sling on back preparing to molt but no progress made for hours.

The less you bother a molting tarantula the better.

    African Giant Snail not eating

I know nothing about snails, but you are going to be asked about your enclosure and husbandry. Good pictures always help.

Why do people purchase adult scorpions instead of juveniles.

I'm going to go with availability, most scorps I see for sale on the net from dealers are adults.

Brazilian black not eating for months-please help

That would be dependent on the max temperature of the enclosure. There is nothing wrong with dry substrate as long as there is a water source.

Brazilian black not eating for months-please help

Thanks, I missed those. The one from the underside does show she has lost a lot of weight. Is she dehydrated? What is her response when you put in fresh water?

Brazilian black not eating for months-please help

I agree that it's lost some weight. As far as the death curl, I wouldn't go that far based on one pic? If that's the way it sits all the time, then yes it has some issues.

Brazilian black not eating for months-please help

I've kept pulchra forever, other than the heating pad your set-up is fine. I keep mine dry, and overfill the water dish twice a week. Don't sweat the not eating, it happens. One of my adult females (I've had her for 15+ years) just finished a six month fast. Yours looks good and healthy.

    The ants have taken another....

If the ants had time to eat an entire pede, I'm going to go out on a limb and say your husbandry needs improvement. How often are you checking on them???

Substrate? And how to soften it

Is that a serious question, does styrofoam look natural to you?

    Emergency! Rotting tarantula leg

It should harden by itself, and after the next molt it will back to normal. However I'm very curious as to how it happened, I've never experienced that myself.

Substrate? And how to soften it

I think @coldblood only uses dirt like that, it shouldn't be causing tumors. Are you sure that is the cause? I prefer cocoa fiber myself, if you get it by the brick it is very cheap.

    G. Rosea won't eat

First off, not eating in the first week of being moved isn't abnormal. G. rosea aren't big eaters in the first place, so not eating for weeks at a time isn't a big deal. Based on the picture, it looks like it's going to molt sometime in the future so I wouldn't expect it to eat until that happens.

I Did It I Bought my First T.

So, you just bought your very first Tarantula and your already disagreeing with experienced members who have been doing this for decades?

G Pulchra not eaten for 8 months!!

I would stop misting, just overflow the water bowl once or twice a week.
