So, mid-July my MM LP passed of old age.
I noticed he had some mold about his mouth, so I put him in the freezer to kill the mold spores.
A few days later, we had a fridge malfunction, and he, along with several frozen bananas, thawed out.
After that I put him in a tupperware filled with...
I would just leave her alone, give her peace and quiet. Ts are very instinctual and given you live in FL I'm not surprised she survived. They are very resilient. The hair loss is from kicking them (also to everyone complaining about saying "spitting hairs" and correcting the OP--they're...
I have a few arboreals large enough to have one, but their enclosure doesn't have room so I mist instead. I also don't keep slings with water dishes.

The ventilation is more to prevent mold. In the TKG Stan specifically says you can totally seal off the vents for a few days in the event of a fumigation.
They have very little need for oxygen. I don't know about avic slings, but I kept my Brachys in moist substrate with no ventilation and...
Shipping FedEx or UPS violates their shipping policies. Same for the USPS, however it is illegal to violate the shipping policies of the USPS.

Don't bother with heat for any adult T unless your heater is broken. Room temp is fine unless you have really fragile slings or are trying to breed.

I know this is an old topic, but I thought I'd add my $.02 for anyone running a search.
I've been keeping B.giganteus with Hemiblabera for about two years, and both have been breeding successfully.
The G.portentosa I put in with them--not so much. I added the portentosa after the giganteus...
If you're looking to buy stuff, the reptile expo in Tyler (Taylor?) is really awesome.
The show in Kalamazoo is worth checking out since you're in West MI, but isn't as awesome as the one on the other side of the state.
As far as locally caught stuff? M.religiosa, and various species of...
I keep mine unheated, fully ventilated and don't mist but occassionally dampen the substrate. I feed fresh fruit and/or veggies weekly, and also provide fish flakes.
I have occasional deaths, usually in small waves--3-5 roaches, but as a whole my colony seems to thrive.
