he was about 2 1/4 inches and I have 2 dogs in the house. That is another one of my worries. I hope they didn't have a snack.
I had made a homebuilt cage for it and had the top lid made of plexiglass. The corners started to turn up leaving a small gap.
I came home the 2 days ago and went to check on my T's. I noticed one was missing and there wasn't a hole where he was hiding. I scooped out all the substrate one spoonful at a time to be sure and sure enough he is gone. I have looked all over and have finally decided that hopefully he will...
My B smithi had its first molt since I have gotten him. Looks like he went from 1 3/4 to about 2 - 2 1/4 inches. Does anyone know what to do to preserve or just to keep the exoskeletons?
I went ahead and checked and I found my first molt!!!!!! I ended up burrying the T when I went investigating since he was in his burrough but I'm sure he will find his way out no problem. I just wish I knew when exactly this had happened. I am just glad it did!!!!!! I am now excited...
After about a month of getting my B. Smithi. He has started to finally come out of his cave! He was about 2 inches when I got him but looks a little bigger now. It is nice to see that he is alive. I guess in this hobby you must have patience! Do you think it is possible that he could have...
I got crickets and have them in a critter keeper in my breezeway. I went to put some apples in and there were a bunch of gnats flying around. Any suggestions on how not to have them?
Does anyone have a gooty ornamental (poeciloheria metallica). I saw one on Swift's <edit> and was only a quarter inch. I was just wondering how cool they look
I went ahead and bought a couple dozen crickets so it would last me a couple of weeks. I went a head and put them in an aquarium with some substrate and food and egg cartons. My problem now is trying to get a hold of those little things. Any ideas or tricks that would help get a cricket out...
I have had my B. Smithi for a week now and for the last 5 days he won't come out of fis cave. He filled in the entrance to the cave but he also made a little hole to get out in the back of the cave. I know he has to come out sometime because I put a cricket in there and it will be gone in the...
Rollie Pollie bugs
I have been reading some threads that say they put these bugs right with the T's. How is it that the T's are not stressed by this, having the bugs around all the time?
My B. Smithi went into his "cave hideout" I made for him. After work to day I went to look and see how he was doing and the front of the cave was all filled in. Should I remove that so he can get out or will he be able to figure it out on his own.
When my T's cam yesterday they also came with a vile of mealworms. When I put a worm in, it dug into the substrate. Is this something to be concerned about?
Question, is 80-85% too much humidity for my B. Smithi? If it is how do I change it without changing the substrate. Will the smithi be all right to stay in there while the substrate dries out more.
My b. smithi and my g. aureostriata came today!!! I am so excited! I put my g.a. in a small critter keeper with some stuff called bed-a-beast. They said it was good substrate for tarantulas. But when it walks around it has its abdomen sticking up in the air and keeps crawling along the sides...
