Hello one and all,
One month ago I renovated my p. cambredgei's kritter keeper, changing substrate etc. The keeper is placed vertically. The problem is that the spider hangs out on or near the lid to its home at all times. This makes feeding rather problematic. Moreover, I'm forced to mist the...
Shrug, energy can be better focused solving bigger problems.
And to the nuke suggestions, yeah, I think the solar system would better off without humanity. Nothing I can do about that though.
I just it amusing that these threads are so common while humanity continues to wage a war of attrition with itself and nature. Sure, it's sad that Ts are being mishandled but it's really a non-issue in a broader picture. Just a thought...
Flipping over a weak spider doesn't sound wise. Dehydration could be the problem though. Spraying some water nearby might be a good idea. Let's see what others have to say.
Cool, cool.
I just wanted to make sure. My seemani didn't eat for 9 months now but she is a mature spider. I was a bit worried about chromatus though. Thanks for the reassurances.
I think that I will give up on handling this baby. This pulchra is the most defensive spider I have had. I have fed her 10 crickets in a siting to insure it's sated and tried touching her with a brush. She got a total death hold on the brush with her fangs and when I tugged back hanged on to the...
Yeah, sure, humans have the capacity to apply their intellect to override primal instincts, but given how the vast majority fails to do so in important matters (like not making war and such), it is really too much to expect for them to care to understand spiders, unfortunately.
Well, arachnophobia is a genetically beneficial trait by natural selection. You know, "don't mess with nasty looking bugs - some are dangerous" sort of idea. I don't think people's fears of spiders are connected with media.
I think that I explained that: the absurdity of movies that fail to be good is hardly enjoyable by comparison to the absurdity that is actually well done.
: shrug : I'm getting my PhD at some point in this decade... Not an easy thing to do, rather time consuming, actually; hence, my preference...
:?
I couldn't disagree more, albeit this is a matter of taste.
If I want an entertaining movie, it better be omg freaking awesome like Grindhouse, Blazing Saddles, or Police Academy. Something that pretends to be any good but is funny only due to its failure to be so is in essence a waste of...
Hello one and all,
I have a 0.25" B.smithi sling that doesn't appear to consume any part of the pre-killed crickets that I offered over the course of the last 3 weeks.
Any suggestions?
Should I be worried?
Yeah, once again to all the neg. responses: I am not going to try to hurt my spider on purpose merely because of my desire (not a need) to interact with it. As I am aware of potential dangers of handling and handled some of my other spiders, I do know that's it's not necessarily the best course...
While I am not an idiot and do realize that the spider doesn't want to be handled at the moment, I am a somewhat of a daring fool and am willing to risk handling it eventually. While I am content with keeping the rest of my collection purely for display purposes, I got the pulchra to try...
I got me a 4" female Pulchra (woo). Unfortunately, she seems to be pscyho. I gave her time to settle in for 3 weeks or so before attempting to interact with her. She attacked my brush rather viciously attempting to grab it and hold on to it. I have heard that this species was normally docile...
