    Your opinion: A.avic or A.paysoni

Get the Paysoni. They live much longer, aren't nearly as common, and have a little more value. Plus I prefer terrestrials or arboreals.

    Top Ten Most Aggressive Tarantulas

Where does the famous "pitbull" of T's; the Rangoon Mustard Spider rate nowadays?

    Lasiodora parahybana(Salmon Pink Bird Eater)

They grow pretty fast. I've had a handfull and have never gotten a threat response. They are very skittish though.

    Handling the Brachypelma Vagan

I've raised over 30 B Vagans and have never handled them. I've seen too many threat responses. And as mentioned earlier, They can go from calm to attack mode in a blink on an eye. But there are people out there that will try handling ANYTHING including pokies and OBT's (which is crazy). You...

    B.Vagans eggs

B Vagans eggsac Sorry for stealing your thread, but coincindentally enough, I have at least 3 newly discovererd B Vagan eggsacs on my hands. Evidently, you thought it best to pull your sac after 2 weeks. Are you afraid of it getting eaten by the mother?, and also, if you don't mind, how do...

    Emilia or Boehmei?

Boehmei or Emelia Personally, I would want the Boehmei because I don't have any. I have 5 Emelia, and even though they are "pet rocks", they are beautiful and I just love watching them grow (they range from 2"-3.5")! They are absolutely problem-free, good feeders, dont flick, etc.

" very hungry and greedy "

Gluttonous A Genic I know ALL of mine are! They are TOPS as far as feeders. Others are N Chromatus, P Cancerides (right up there with 'em!), GBB's and B Vagans (beleive it!).

thinking of getting a p. metallica

P Metallica I finally got one! I traded a friend for one. It felt like when I got my first Brazilian Black (great)! No additional reasons "why not" than the excellant posts stated already. These are Arboreal and built their nest at the top of their containers. You may want to consider...

    Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens: a good choice?

I'd say that GBB's are probably comparable in price to Brazilian Blacks. In other words, just slightly more than your B Smithi.

    New T opinions!

I can't think of a more striking display T than A Geniculata. They are beautiful, insane feeders, are always "out", and are large!

    What to choose???

I'm not much of an OW or Arboreal guy (except for Versi's), so I'd go with the Pulchra. But the Pulchra will probably be the most expensive, slowest moving and growing (typical pet-rock), and most docile of the 3. Vagans are different then most of the Brachy's. I've raised many of them, and...

    Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescens: a good choice?

Gbb Fantastic spider. As hardy as they come. I have 3 and have yet to see a threat pose. I agree, very hardy, care like an OBT (they love it dry!) They web like OBT's (but not as much), almost have that kind of speed, too. The speed is the one thing you have to watch out for. Young slings...

    My condolences as well, Theresa.

What should my next T be?

GBB vs OBT The GBB's are much more expensive,, but in my opinion they're worth it. They will only increase in value with time and size, and are absolutely gorgeous. The OBT's have different color phases ranging from tan to golden to bright orange to reddish orange. The golden phase is NOT the...

    Lasiodora parahybana birdeating spider

Lp Based on what you are saying Tyler, an LP may fit the bill. But I can think of at least a few species that may be an even better fit for what you are looking for. If you want a large voracious feeder that will tear into anything you throw into its cage, then N Chromatus, A Geniculata, and...

Cooling fast feisties in refrigerator to transfer to different cages.

Rehousing fast T's You learn something new everyday! I like your method. The only potential drawback I can see, is of course, cooling for too long. Ten to fifteen minutes worked for you, but refrigerator temps vary. T's are different. A very hardy like an OBT may tolerate occasional cold...

    B. Albiceps very defensive

Aggressive B Albiceps Sounds like some of my B Vagans. Is The temperament of B Albiceps in general more like B Vagans or B Smithi? ---------- Post added at 11:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:27 AM ---------- Oh, BTW, I forgot to add, she's beautiful!!

    Most vicious eater

Most vicious feeders It's tough. Let's see... A Genic, P Phormictopus, N Chromatus, B Vagans... A Genic's are getting lots of love! Can't say that I disagree. Ok, I'll try to narrow it down tp just 2... My Haiitian Brown, And all handfull of my Brazilian Blak & Whites.

    Old World T, good beginner?

1st OW My first and only OW was a female E. Pachypus. Never seen 1 threat pose. She was also as advertised; a pet hole. So I guess could suggest E Pachypus as a first OW; only I wouldn't want another one. To me they are just drab, boring "pet holes". Also, outside of mature males, It was my...
