Ive got an H. arizonensis and it is very angry, all the time. Maybe one of these days... and of course, while in bed I have unintentionally handled a few barks in the last year, which sucks to wake up to.
It is not a tiny guy, but definately not an adult... has a few molts in it for sure. Unfortunately, the claw was broken at the very base, so I doubt it will ever get the full thing back.
So, should I remove the broken claw so he doesn't have to lug a dead arm around everywhere? It seems to be...
I got a call to pick up a bark from a home in Phoenix, and when I got there the guy who lived there had already tried to catch it, badly damaging one of the claws on the poor little guy. Will this heal/regenerate?

Solifugids don't chase, except in perception of course... and although will bite readily, are not dangerous. They are native to my apartment, it seems, and we find them several times a month... and are turned into a quick meal for my desert hairy scorp.

cool... thanks for the advice. I'll probably stick with moths and the various trespassers that we find in the place... which lately have included quite a few young solifugids. Fun.
Hi, my little guy loves moths and crickets... but would like to make a move to meal worms. I got a dozen of them that are about the same length as he is... and he seems disinterested, having not eaten one of them after a few days. Are these too big, or just not a food item he's into?
