I did some searches through old threads and couldn't find anything very relevant to this situation, so I'll ask here:
I've had my G. Pulchripes girl for 2 or 3 years now. I got her as a mature female in a trade. I was not told how old she is. She is currently not moving as far as I can tell...
You might consider switching out the calci-cand for some peat moss, or something similar. You can find it at most gardening stores, and it's not very expensive at all. :)
Hi guys,
I'm having a bit of a problem deciding what to do with my tiny A. hentzi. He's been looking like he was about to molt for the past few days, and he finally did it last night. However, it looks like he never fully detached from the exoskeleton. There is a patch on about the lower 1/3...
As far as I've read, looks like you're going to have to kill prey for her, and make it into a sort of "cricket soup". (That is assuming she really can not kill the prey herself. If she figures it out, no worries)
Read this thread, it'll probably help a lot...
Yeah, but I thought the point of a communal setup was to keep them in tight enough quarters that they had to be in close contact with and tolerate one another, otherwise they would each get their own little territory and nab any trespassers. Sorry, not trying to be argumentative, just trying to...

What?! I... don't understand. The only theory I could come up with is that the maybe the tank was big enough to allow for them each to have their own area. But nah, it's not THAT big..
Is there something I'm missing that someone...
Hey all,
Just wanted a little advice. I bought an A. metallica sling a couple weeks ago. Sling shipped on the 13th to my dorm room, via priority mail. I just "tracked" it, and here's what I got:
Delivered, October 16, 2009, 11:32 am, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94118
Today is the 17th, and it is...
I keep 6 Ts in my dorm, seems like everyone on the floor knows about it (except RA, of course), but nobody really says anything even though it's against the rules.
Also~ my RA is blind, so maybe I'm just getting off lucky O.o
Hm, I thought 60 was about right for a smithi of that size...? I could be wrong. Congrats on the purchase, anyway :p
And as far as age goes, I think it's undeterminable because there are so many factors that could influence the growth of the T- temperature, feeding schedule, blah blah....
I've got a sling, and all I can say is that he's mostly very shy... though he does have a cute way of catching prey :) He seems to romp around with them a bit before they're subdued. Such a dramatic little fellow! :p
But as far as the shyness goes, I think that's just because he's still a sling.
Aw, so fuzzy and cute. Has your niece picked out a name for her? Picking names was always my favorite part of having pets when I was that young, heheh.
