So sorry-- I'm horrible at replies!
Yeah-- he's just a little guy right now, Jammo is. And his previous owner didn't want to hang around and wait for the baby b.smithi to start getting his colors. He was literally going to toss him out, so I said hey, let me take him off your hands. So...
New pics of the gang, including a pic of a freshly molted Avic Avic sling, Ikarus. Ikarus had what looked to be a broken pedipalp and a broken leg pre-molt. Pedipalp looks good as new but looks like he lost a leg in the molt-- can't be sure, but he looks to be in good shape regardless. T's...
Anastasia-
You are simply proving my point that you're coming across confrontational.
I think you are wrong, as do a number of other folks. Regardless of that, I wish you well.
These references were made all in relation to Mr. Becker. Were someone to go off these quotes alone, it would appear that you do have a personal agenda against Paul. I don't want to turn this into a 'he said, she said' thread-- but you asked me to point out references of your words against Mr...
Anastasia--
I wasn't asking for a group hug. It does appear that you've taken some personal jabs at Paul's T keeping abilities. Perhaps you're not fully understanding of the english language, and I'm absolutely open to the possibility that you are not. But I would highly encourage you to...
It seems there's some serious nit-picking here. Whether it's over mites being on tarantulas, the life cycle of a mite, or mites on dogs/cats/rabbits, it all boils down to this: whether we're newcomers to the hobby, or oldtimers, it's all about research. I've seen some personal jabs taken...
Here's the sad point, aside from the obvious:
The USPS is only screwing themselves out of money. The hobby may only be a small portion of the pet industry trade, but still-- there's a market here. I would think it fantastic if some kind of deal could be struck with a Fed Ex or a like...
Yes--it's happened again!!
Two more molts within the last two days: first, my A. sp. Peru Purple hopped on the molt bandwagon three days ago. He's got what I believe to be adult coloring coming in-- his legs are blue, and he's fine as can be! He's about two inches now. And second, my A...
I'm sorry to hear about your OBT, Audrey.
I'll re-iterate what others have already said: don't blame yourself. Truthfully, for as much as we know about T's there is a world more of things we don't know. Why some T's molt fine and others have problems no one really knows, especially if...
Unfortunately, it's a simple matter of people refusing to educate themselves. It's easier to go by word-of-mouth rather than actually having the desire to get up off one's fluffy duff and open a book or type in a few words. Sadly, it's that one person who says, 'EW!' loudly enough so others...
Whew!
My fourth molt in two weeks occurred today! My P. Irminia sling molted and looks like he/she gained some size! I estimate around 2 inches post-molt but won't know for certain til it hardens up. How cool!
And I think I've got a few more on the horizon-- my Avics are getting awful...
I'll chime in, as I started the thread. :)
I have not been keeping T's long. Pretty new, really. But if I had to agree with anyone, I'd probably agree with PIG.
It's a little hard to balance keeping the humidity and temps and ventilation just so for arboreals, Avics in particular...
