    Scorpion Picture Thread

Yes Brandon - those are the ones :) Lovely scorpions, I really enjoy observing them. If I'm right - there was only one female from the survivors, but hopefully she will live long and will give me something to be proud about.

    Ferret, that is homless...............NOT!

We got ourselves a new pet, was against it (we have some potent enough scorpions that might end with quite a disastrous yields), but you can't resist that naughty beast. He got lost somehow so we took him with us. 1 year old male. Things that he likes: play and sleep. Very fascinating when he...

    few macro pics

Beautiful picture Mark :) How did you get it sharp with that big focal length while holding in hands? however I still believe that it's worth buying lenses instead of rings. D50 with Nikkor 60 mm macro: There are some cheaper alternatives form Sigma.

    few macro pics

Yes Mark, but rings are like 3 times more expensive and in that case it makes more sence to buy macro lenses. However, results in daylight gives some better results:

It's KIT lenses: 18 - 135 mm (fotos are made with maximum focal lenght - 135) and this adapter: http://ecamerafilms.stores.yahoo.net/raydcr250brs.html However, if you'll find some funds I sugest you to buy some expensive stuff like sigma (like SIGMA 70/2.8 EX DG MACRO) lenses insead of adapter...

Thanks for compliments. It's Nikon D80 with 18 - 135 mm lenses and as Dave noticed - also macro adapter from Raynox. Can't afford macro lenses at the moment, but this adapter works well too. :)

Congrats Ed, hopefully you'll raise them all well and there will be 4 females and one Kazanova :D As for sexing Confusus, the moult looks then more like female. So we have one vote as a male (Mange tak Rigelus ;)) and of for female (thanks Ed). What a confusion... I should check my records for...

    Using FOOD to KILL ants?!?!?

Burn it :D I think you could use some sticky things to catch them however those need maintaince as they produce "corpse bridges" over it so you'll have to do the "0182.Status Quo - Burning Bridges.mp3". It's one of the methods to treat pest species here in Lithuania but my guess is that all we...

Had some fun yesterday with new camera. Centruroides Margaritatus Mesobuthus Martinesii Liocheles Australasiae Vaejovis Confusus and a question: how to determine gender of this cutie? Because of some unpleasant experience I have only this one left but it would be nice to find a...
