    Question about the local honeybees

Honey bees will travel up to 5 miles in search of necter and pollen. There are many hives on Long Island, my uncle used to inspect hives there for the state. I have 3 hives about 30 feet from the front door of my business, but few of my customers even know I have them. The bees leave the...

I will bump the temp up to 75+ and dampen the soil...see what happens. They are plump and healthy looking. They eat every so often, but not big eaters. Thanks for the advice...Jim

    Chaco Tips?

Your first!!....your condition will only get worse with time. With any sling, add the few drops of water when needed. If your vial has small holes and dose not dry out, don't add any more untill needed. Jim

    Breeding B smithi.

I know this is a hobby of patience...But...to breed smithi's you need males. I have 3 males purchased in 2000, they were 2 years old than, now are 3 years out from their last molt!! Any way to hint to them that it is time to molt into maturity???? I keep my T-room 80 during the day dropping...

    feeding slings

One option I have used is meal worms. I have cut them up or get a culture going and harvest them when they are very small. Also if by chance you have a box of cherrio's in the back of a cupboard for the last year and it has become infested with grain moth larva, they work well too...

    Vermiculite!?!

I have seen what Megalon is talking about not on my T's but in the water dishes (clay type ) and I think it is the really fine vermiculite used for seedling mixes. I used a fine mix a few years ago and some that dried in the bottom of the dishes was almost impossible to scrub out, but never see...

    Breeding B smithi.

Great Info Ryan!!! Just a question on the cooling period. Do you cool as to the time of the year or on the breeding period. In other words, would you cool your females over the winter ever if they were not mated or would you cool them after they have mated during any time of the year? Jim

    nhandu chromatus...TIIINY!!!!

Keep the soil moist. I had a sac last spring and so far the ones I lost were due only to soil drying out. Pin head crickets and parts of meal worms is what I have fed. Jim
