    Cyclocosmia - suitable 'pet'?

Do they walk around the cage or are they 99% hiding in their tunnel/den/hole/thing?

    Cyclocosmia - suitable 'pet'?

Hey everyone, found out about a really cool spider spieces Cyclocosmia truncata and just wondering if anyone has any info on them. Can they live just fine in a cage like tarantulas? Any idea on their price? Are they dangerous to humans? Temperament? Do they need to be fed more or less often...

How long for super worms to hatch?

One superworm got away from my T (I didn't realize she was in pre-molt) and managed to get into the substrate. That was about a week and a half ago. Now the T is webbing up and I'm concerned the beetle will pop out very soon. How long after a mature super worm digs in does it turn into a...

    A. metallica -- premolt?

If it's only been a few days it is definitely just stressed and uncomfortable. It took mine several weeks to a month before they began eating

Is it necessary to change the substrate?

Hi all, I've had two T's for 2-3 years now and I'm wondering if and when changing the substrate is needed. Can the same substrate be used throughout the T's life? I don't see a reason to change it really, maybe just shuffle the top, but I'm afraid to do that because one is a hair flicker and...

T climbing screen mesh! DRIVING ME NUTS

I don't know if you were joking or not but if I remove the mesh she will get out of the cage. I was thinking of something like rubbing some kind of liquid on the sides towards the top of the cage. Kind of like how ants hate vinegar, idk. She's been exploring the mesh for a month.

T climbing screen mesh! DRIVING ME NUTS

I have had this particular T for about a year now and last month it started climbing the screen mesh a few times a week. I can't fall asleep with it and she does it all night long! I have no clue WHY she's doing it. She's in the same terrarium as she's been with everything the same from since...

    diskinetic syndrome or just spazzy?

3 T's? Man something is wrong at your household. Do you spray the T's room with anything like Febreeze maybe? My T developed mild DKS when I was spraying the room with Febreeze. I then stopped spraying and she's back to completely normal 2 molts later

    Suddenly can't climb

Hi, my T can't climb her tank walls all of a sudden. A couple of days back she could, but I just saw her trying to climb a few times and she has 0 suction on her legs. I even saw her flip over a couple of times trying. Could it be because she's in late pre-molt? But if so, my other T molted...

    Webbing and burying prey

So I've had a C. cyaneopubescens for a few months now. The few times I've fed her I noticed she took out the remains outside and I thought she did it every time. But now I look a look in her lair through the webbing and in the corner of the aquarium I see 3 cricket heads and half a body...

    Advice on getting a turtle/tortoise

Hi there. I'm looking to possibly get a turtle/tortoise but I need one that is REALLY small (small enough to live in a 5 or 10 gallon aquarium). Do such small turtles live? I would also prefer one that is terrestrial (doesn't require a pool of some sort)

Funnel Web Weaver Spider - Agelenopsis sp.

Well, it's been 10 days since I bred two females and still no sac from either one. Could it be that they're not mature? According to the link in this thread about breeding, it took that user 4 days to produce the first eggsac. How can I tell if the females are mature or not? They're medium size...

    Dispose of my Molt, Woman!

Hmm you're right. Just a few days ago I've seen the same thing with a house spider. Must be species specific then, because for example I caught a Funnel Weaving Spider not long ago and gave it a cricket a few days after catching the spider. It put its remains outside of its webbing the next day...

    Dispose of my Molt, Woman!

Spiders are just clean animals. You wouldn't want to live with a shed body or food left overs in your bed, right? Neither would a spider

Funnel Web Weaver Spider - Agelenopsis sp.

Ah, if they don't make webs that would explain it, because I only look for webs (and the one I found was on a web, must have been a females web). What is a pitfall trap? (Google to the rescue! I'll have to try that. Problem is, all the spiders are in a 1-2 foot bushes outside my house, not on...
