Hi guys,
I have a question. I have been a water dragon owner for about two months now. I bought Greenie, the little guy (second pic), first. A month later, I bought Rico.
Rico was a little smaller than he is now, but not much. However, his growth has been noticeable. He has since...
Here are some pics of my little T's. My B. Smithi (bottom pic.) my B smithi just molted and finally has some hair on its little butt :D I am so proud of her. The little Chaco, (top pic), is still bald as a mofo. And Mr. Brazilian WhiteKnee is still hiding, so there are no pics of...
Someone at a petstore recently recommended Crushed English Walnut Substrate for my Tarantula because it makes the enclosure look nice and would make the T. stand out more whenever she decides to show herself in public :D . I found some at Petsmart and it says right on the bag that it is good...
I just renamed my OBT. Her original name was Eminem, cuz she was always pissed off and full of attitude. But recently, I found out that she was a girl T. And plus, Smokejuan recently posted that Tarantulas are said to taste like peanut butter, so... :D :} Peanut butter. :razz: I renamed...
Actually I read it has the texture of peanut butter and a little nutty flavor. Got to be a little nutty to eat it in the first place. :confused:
Mmm, peanut butter :} Just add a little grape jelly to your T. Blondi and its all good :D
Well the T. is <edit>, He's good right? I'm glad to hear its a good price. Btw, Blasphemy, I still definitely want that suntiger...but when I saw the horned T., I fell in love with it. :) I'm definitely going to have to buy her. But the P. Irminia is next :D
I am thinking of buying a a Horned Baboon T. and I found a really cool one. But I am new to the hobby and I was wondering, is $75 too much for a C. darlingi female? She is approximately 4” I read they are supposed to grow 6 to 7 inches and are rare in captivity.
Yup, thats why I named my OBT Eminem...cuz she is pissed off all the time and you know that if she could talk and had a mic, she'd be rapping about trifling pinky mice and them whack a$$ crickets keeping her up all night with their chirps thinking they got something to say! :}
The furthest jump I have seen wasnt from a Tarantula, but from the pet shop employee who was taking my OBT out of her tank when I first bought her. She charged at him full speed and I swear he jumped like 5 or 6 feet in the other direction. ;P
:wicked: OBTs rock!
I ordered a Ceratogyrus darlingi from Krazy 8s. And I definitely know what you mean BlkCat, I am pretty new here and I am already going Tarantula crazy. I started with my OBT, now I got an A. geniculata and a B. smithi (both slings). And the new guy should arrive within a week ;P
There are several theories to what the spider uses the horn for, and the most likely is what the canadian arachnologist Rick C. West writes:
"Back in mid-1986, I did a preliminary study of the 'foveal horn' from dissected Ceratogyrus spp. The results of this investigation were published in...
All you experts probably already heard of Ceratogyrus bechuanicus, Ceratogyrus marshalli, or Ceratogyrus Darlingi, but I am fairly new to the hobby and I am sure other new members would like to check it out. When i saw it, I thought it was sooo beautiful. The horn looks awesome! I know its an...
I thing the documentary said that the spider was a special treat for the tribe...sorta like a delicacy. Kind of like we eat shrimp or crab...which by the way are pretty freaky looking when they're alive too. They're like the bugs of the sea :D But they're tasty. Maybe those tribespeople are...
Speaking of skin grafts:

Please tell me they're exaggerating. We got lots of brown recluse spiders in our area too. I don't want a skin graft on my ass! :(
