I'm currently trying to breed my P. Regalis. I noticed last night that both the male and female had red "lumps" on their pedipalps. I was pretty sure I had a female and male, but now I'm starting to question myself. Here's an image of what I mean.
I feel like an idiot asking, but i...
I didn't ship them because I didn't have a place to stay guaranteed when I got here. They only person I could have shipped them to out here would have been my parents, and 1) they were in a hotel when I got here as well as their house was not ready and 2) there was no way in h*ll my mom was...
About 3 months back I had to give up all my little guys for a move from Ontario to Alberta. I can't believe how much I miss my little guys. I miss watching them eat, the comments I always got from their tank set-ups, and everything about them in general. This really sucks as I don't have the...
I have a mature female rosie that chooses to sit out in the open. She's got a clump of fake plants that I have shaped into a ball to give her a hide, but she refuses to use it. She'd rather be out in the open near her water dish.
I know your not supposed to mix species, but what I was to win the lottery and had a large walk-in enclosure built. Something like 15' x 15'. Could you house more than one species in the room assuming that care was the same as what you have the room set up for?
The thing is though that it hasn't webbed a bit since being put in the new enclosure. Is there a chance that it feels comfortable enough with all of the hides that it has? It usually just sits on the foam wall at the back of the tank (Exo-Terra).
I'm going to assume that my Avic Avic will be molting soon. It's rump is almost fully black now. I've been watching it's "receding hairline" for a while now, and it has just recently refused to eat. It hasn't done ANY new webbing in it's new enclosure (been in it for almost two months now)...
I have a friend who when he saw a spider, his body would lock up. No matter how much he tried to move, he couldn't. Over the last year he has gotten used to being around them but was still uncomfortable with having the cages open when he was over. One day, he suprised me by asking to hold my...
Got a new digital camera tonight and I thought I'd get more pics of my animals to test it out.
My Avicularia avicularia = Pink toe tarantula (Balls)
My Paraphysa scrofa = Chileane copper (unnamed)
My Grammostola rosea = Chilean rose hair, Chile rose (Baby)
My Avicularia versicolour...
Also, when your taking your pic, press the button down half way and let the camera focus before pressing the rest of the way. If you get close and just press it all the way, it's more likely to be out of focus and blurry.
I would say no, but that's just my feelings on feeding wc prey. You can't guarantee that they have NEVER come into contact with anything hazardous.
I wonder how much it would cost to have some of those shipped to me in Canada though if it was legal.
