    Help

When I cut away the old mold, I can leave the old mold on whats supposed to be the new legs...correct? Should the T be able to use these legs once I get the other excess mold off? Or will it dry and harden causing those 3 legs to be done with? I'd really like to get all of it off but that's...

    Help

molt still stuck to 3 legs I've tried moistening the molt and am in the process of doing the shower deal. I've figured out all the right side legs are out, the left rear leg is out. The other 3 left legs aren't out yet. It's draining the pinktoe's strength pretty quickly. It's been a good 36...

    Help

My Avic Avic pink toe has had difficulty molting. It's about 2.5 to 3" big. Earlier today it was on it's back molting. About 5 hours later he/she was standing. Since then, the entire left side of the legs are still stuck on the new molt. He/she walks around and the molt is still stuck on the...

    a major blunder!

I live in south Texas and there is a dilemma. My sister still lives with my parents. They found out she had a scorpion collection. She's always been into them. Anyways, the majority of the collection: 2 Death Stalkers, 3 Fat Tails, a few Emps, and several Arizona bark scorpions has been tossed...

    question about spiderlings

Ok, in addition to my black widow sighting I have yet another sighting. Some of you might recall the video I shared with the Avic and P. Murinus mating a month or so ago. How long does it take for an egg sack to be made and hatch? I saw a clear looking spider 1 to 1.5 mm crawling down my...

    HUGE black widow

Another question. What's the largest black widow you ever laid eyes on? I hope that someone has seen one larger than this one. Just so I know I am not the luckiest guy on earth for having a huge monster in my closet. I have 2 T's and they don't bug me at all, so why does a black widow that's not...

    HUGE black widow

I was cleaning out my bedroom closet and I saw a huge <edit> black widow. It was shiny jet black with the round abdomen, and a white stripe on the top. It scurried behind a few boxes. I placed my pointer finger against the box where I saw it. Using the space it took up next to the box, this...

    Opinion needed fast

heres the video link Hey to all. I have found an online sharing site. I know of someone who wanted pictures. Even better I caught them with my vid cam. The movie file is viewable with Quicktime. It is approx 29.6 Megs. I apologize for the file size, as I was clearly rushed because I didn't...

    Opinion needed fast

video of P. Murinus and A. Avic contacting each other Last night I caught them in the act AGAIN. Acting on instinct, I grabbed my video camera. Is there anyway I can post this video on the net somewhere? I think it's a 10 or 15 meg file. It is about 1 minute 30 seconds long. They were...

    Opinion needed fast

Once the P. Murinus gets a little bigger I am moving him/her to a new tank to prevent such a tradegy. I think I have been pretty lucky so far. It doesn't worry me too much because the A. Avic is still quite a bit bigger. If they managed to mate, you said there would probably be no offspring...

    Opinion needed fast

Before you think i'm crazy for doing this, let me explain. I have 2 T's in the same tank (30 Gal taller terrarium). A P. Murinus and A. Avic. The P. Murinus is about 3 inches. The Avic is 4.5 to 5. This is not the first time they have done this. They have been in the same tank for months...

    Species Pterinochilus murinus ("OBT")

Here is a pic of my new OBT. As you can see, she is hanging from the top of the cage in a typical threat posture. This was taken using a 5 MP resolution, so you can probably blow it up quite a bit.

Most aggressive: H. Maculata, Haplopelma minax, or Usambara Baboon?

bite reports After reading the bite reports on P. Murinus, I am wondering what would the effects of a bite be from a full grown 5" adult? Most of the reports I can see are from OBT's my size.

Most aggressive: H. Maculata, Haplopelma minax, or Usambara Baboon?

My new P. Murinus "Kenya" Ok, it's going on day 3 of having my P. Murinus now. So far, she has found refuge between the hollow centered log and the side of the tank. She built a small enclosure style web to stay in. She went inside the log which has a hole going down into the center (log is...

Most aggressive: H. Maculata, Haplopelma minax, or Usambara Baboon?

I got a P. Murinus I ordered a P. Murinus from E- Spider world, it should arrive tommorrow. I'll let everyone know how it is. The size is 2.5" so I imagine it is still got a few molts left. I also got a pair of 10" tweezers with the order, so I look forward to seeing just how quick this spider is.

Most aggressive: H. Maculata, Haplopelma minax, or Usambara Baboon?

loss of a leg Does anyone know what happens if a T looses a leg? I found my pinktoe had lost a right leg. The stub that's left did clot. Will it grow a leg back? I don't know if it is mature yet, i'd imagine it is because in the 4 months i've had her, there hasn't been a molt. The entire leg is...

Most aggressive: H. Maculata, Haplopelma minax, or Usambara Baboon?

WhyTeDragon.. How's it going neighbor? I live up road in Kerrville. Lol, small world huh. It sounds like the P. Murinus would be a good choice. It's venom isn't as medically significant as the ornamentals, and it's not super huge like the King Baboon (I'd have to get a lock for the top of the...

Has anyone heard about this spider?

Rangoon Mustard sp. Chilobrachys sericeus. I have found one website on it. Supposedly this Tarantula is much more easily provoked than P. Murinus or H. Lividium. Any ideas? I imagine this is a very rare T to obtain.

Most aggressive: H. Maculata, Haplopelma minax, or Usambara Baboon?

Thanks for all your advice; hissing spiders?! I've narrowed it down to about 2 T's because they meet the criteria based on my current setup. Either P. Murinus, or a King Baboon. Based on what i'm reading, the King Baboon would be the most challanging T to have. I have my reservations about the...
