For the first time in the five years of tarantula ownership, I am very nervous about moving a spider. I know this spider is fast as lightning.....so my plans are to put her/ him in the fridge for 45 minutes and then cutting it out of its tunnel web and moving it to its new inclosure..I don't...
Your avic probably needs time to get used to its new surroundings and if it is in premolt it will not eat. Just make sure the water dish is full, make sure the ventilation is good, and if you think it is in premolt, mist a little to keep the humidity up.
I got her from John Hoke when she was a little over 2". I bought her as a guarenteed female. I've had her a tad over 4 years. She only molts about once a year now.
My parahybana molted July 1st and I found her today doing her after molt stretch so I thought I would measure her.....9 1/4" ! I guess she is in the gaint spider catagory now :worship: !
Sorry for the crappy pic, but I can't move her aquarium without disturbing her
so I had to take it...
My wife gave me a cobalt blue for Fathers Day 2005. I set up an enclosure with a hide ,plenty of substrate to burrow and a large water bowl. Within a week "Midnight" had burrowed in as I expected....about two weeks ago it came out of its burrow and has been out since....he/she eats crickets...
My big girl parahybana escaped when I was feeding all my T's and the top was off her aquarium.....we had a power failure because of a truck hitting a utility pole....when the lights came back on she was about six feet from where
she was supposed to be. My wife freaked out but a sponge...
I got Bolt just before Christmas and he/she was about 1.25". Three months later it has doubled in size, almost:) . Do i have a male or are they just fast growers? I couldn't find anything about thier growth rate. Thanks!
