    The time I caught my G. porteri hanging from the lid like this. I lowered the lid into the enclosure to allow her to get her footing and unhook herself. I'm sure she was stuck but haven't seen it since.

    I would imagine she would be in premolt after all this time but she hardly looks like she's in premolt. :bored:

    From what I can see of the front palps, not a mature male but I'm awful at ventral sexing so I can't tell the gender other than that.

    I chose "somewhat approves, sees why I like them" because he doesn't disapprove, but always says NO when I try to get more but is pretty indifferent about them as long as I don't ask him to care for them, which has has done and can do but doesn't want to do.

    Could be molting! How long has he been in that position? At that size you should start seeing movement soon but don't bother him.

    Any way you can post a pic? It might just be the way his burrow is shaped and that's a comfortable position for him, but the best way to tell is with a picture.

    metallica have lighter setae on the abdomen. i'd say avicularia avicularia.

    her spinnerets get light to an orange as she fades. but i can't figure out what she is.
