    lasiodora klugi vs parahybana

I think I'll revive this thread. I have been absent of late. I WILL add that Lasiodora are the only species that I have encountered which have caused me skin irritation. I learned to never reach in without latex gloves to retrieve a water dish (or even collect debris). Itchy & scratchy!

Can you repair a T with nothing but Flex Tape?

I once received a spider with a crazy glue repair. She recovered and molted just fine, FWIW.

Where to find scolopendra heros arizonensis

Heh. The summer's not over. While I don't see many, I will see more before the summer's over! My yard seems to produce 10's of C sculpturatus....

Where to find scolopendra heros arizonensis

I caught one on my back porch last night (Tucson, AZ). I wee them from time to time outside, this one is about 5" long. I wouldn't have a clue where to find them.

    Info needed on Lampropelma violaceopes

I have packed up hundreds of these. A few had to be pulled off of my back (Why is it that when a T runs up your arm they always stop in the middle of your back?) I consider them fairly docile, not that I would care to handle them. Reports that I have read suggest that they pack a hell of a...

    Gooty Price-Fair?

Getting dealers in ANY field to collaborate & cooperate is like trying to herd cats.

    Centruroides sculpturatus

I moved to Tucson about two years ago. The only scorpions around my house are, naturally, C. sculpturatus. I have caught a few in the house here and there... A few nights ago...I went up to the loft and stepped on one..and what began as a sharp pain grew within moments to be the most intense...

SF Bay Area Tarantula Society Meeting

Hmm I dunno if I will make it. I am in the process of a move, a rather major one in fact. We shall see! I rented a truck for a week, and there is still quite a bit to go......

Holy crap, Bigfoot and Chupacabra proof?

I once saw a preserved foot from a bigfoot in Nepal. It was about two and a half feet long. Very believable, IMHO. It's all true! The Invisible Pink Unicorn told me so!!;P

Thinking Of Getting An "Old World" Tarantula.

I believe that Psalmopoeus, like Avicularia which they are a sub-group of, have urticating hairs on the palps, but not the rest of the body. I really like my Psalmos--I have handled my irminia and pulcher. My cambridgie is the most vicious animal in my menagerie, the only one to stand up and...

    Blue Mold on Half Log

A note on nuking wood.... I do so regularly to sterilize between animals. Make sure to place the wood ON a plate, and keep an eye on it. I will nuke it until just before ignition (yes it will go up in flames if you forget about it!)

    Tarantulas at work?

Actually Tailless Whip Scorpion, but you get the idea :) I love watching them hunt while waving their "buggywhips" around! But I think that these guys would creep out most people! As to escapes, careful as it goes!

Thinking Of Getting An "Old World" Tarantula.

Most OW spiders are secretive. You will not see them much. That said, I am quite fond of OW aboreals*. All my Pokies are reclusive. Cyriopagapus *sometimes* come out. Selenocosmia is there an animal in there? Same for Haplopelma. The most visible seem to be African species, but again...

    Tarantulas at work?

I run my own (import) business. I guess that makes me the boss.... I have my 30 odd tarantulas in the main office. While most clients that come in don't go into the office, most that do are fascinated by them. I keep the scorps and TWS on low shelves. The colorful guys are most visible*...
