I agree with everyone else. Those pics don't look underwater, Becca is right. I've had lots of fish in my day and never said air bubbles sticking to the glass and not floating to the surface, its air.
But is he right, can a species actually swim??? and not sink to the bottom like this spider...

They other thing I hear about plants in an enclosure is that it is good to keep them in the pots they come in. They seem to die if taken out and planting in the substrate. Just a heads up!!!
I agree with Pandora about the misting and humidity advice. I do the same with mine. Misting the ones from Indian, SE Asia and such a little more then the other tropical ones. I would't say I spray more then once a week though.
For slings, I think they get all the moisture they need from...
My little sling does the exact same thing. I would get nervous that the borrow had caved in on the spider and I would dig the thing up just to find its fine and in a webbed "cave". Anyway I think its pretty common this these species. They are borrowers and love staying down deep in the substrate.
yeah she love the open space. At night she usually does laps of the place. She also lays these long strands of silk, runners I call them back and forth throughout the inclosure. On the ground and some are right off the ground. Its' pretty cool.
Nice collection you got there. Very daring with the holding of the OBT. But I have heard that tarantulas have attitudes too. Some you can hold and others you can't of the same species.
Here are a couple of new pics of my newer stuff. minus the PZB!!!
Here's what they are:
Chilobrachys fimbriatus - 2"
Citharishius crawshayi - 3/4"
Eupalaestrus campestratus - 6"
Haplopelma sp. "Vietnam" - 4"
Paraphysa scofra - 3"
Well whatever you do, you better make it the most beautiful enclosure you've ever seen. One that you never wanna take your eyes off of, or maybe even one that you like too look at more than the spider.
Cuz I hear they are pet holes!!!!! haha
I want one too though haha
Good choice on the smithi. Its good because its a better beginner and less aggresive then the couple others you've mention, plus its beautiful.
Good call on the Togo too!! Not good for a beginner.
No joke......
I have a 6' E.campestratus in a 48 gallon tank!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know I'm crazy but she was my first and I felt bad for the thing being in a little container. So I wanted it to be in a big, "natural" setting. I still to this day hae problems about putting them in little...
Likey, Likey
Yeah thats a great setup you got there. She'll love it I'm sure!!!
Did you have to glue that stuff to the back of the aquarium or am I looking at a top view????
Mine happened on a cool Canadian morning, Jan. 22 2006. I had awoken early in the morning, around 7:04 and I went to drain one. Before I went back to bed to check a few more winks, I looked in the H.maculata setup too see how she was. I had only gotten her the night before so I was excited to...
