What ever it is , it's ugly. Step on it.
Kidding... but strangely it looks a bit like
like the tunnel web spider living in a dryer vent
protruding from the back of my house.
It's huge and terrifing due to the fact it
will run high speed out to grab ANYTHING
near its massive tunnel web...
If you are keeping one you already have....female of course....keep one A.versicolor. The fact you had more than one in the first place is your answer. There is no T more beautiful.
If you are getting rid of ALL your T's and want a new one...low maintainence, won't terrify your girlfriend...
It is painfully obvious with the naked eye... she has a prominent flap. I was looking with the mag glass to see if I saw any Spematheca.. I see none! Nada! Just her big flap that is still fused !!???
I have a female g pulchra that has molted every six months times four. Her furrow flap is still fused and no sign of spermatheca looking with a magnifying glass. Over the two years she has gone from 2 inches to 5 1/2 inches lat measure with these molts.
I know this species is a 'slow...
I love Ts that keep a clean house...cuts down on mites and other icky things. Take the ball out ane toss it...It will make a new garbage roll when needed. Mine will even push it out of her burrow and across the tank to her "land fill" {D
To see a T pinned to a board......*urp*....*Urp*
Sorry, I'm gonna be sickkkkkkkkkkkk

My b emilia is huge and lives in a tank with a typical screen top. I also have a g.pulchra in the same type enclosure.
Never once have they attempted to "chew" through it. As a matter of fact, when the tanks were new, both of them tried to crawl on the mesh...got hung up...I got then down and...
It's hard to see it or know how big it is. Comparing it to the grassy area it's on it looks wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to big even for a smithi.
I suggest you put a puppy in there to house break it or get a python ;)
To the last three replies:
* Your tank or container should be created to prevent falls that would rupture an abdomen. I never implied to overfeed the T, just give the poor thing what it wants!
*Wind, find me a fifty year old wild T to agree with your statement:D
*As I said above, I...
I let my g pulchra go without food for two weeks then give her a pinkie (less than 48 hrs old) and she loves that treat!!! She eats the entire thing minus a few bonyish things which she wraps secrurely in web and puts it in her garbage area. She also wraps up the substate and webbing she ate on...
What da.....
Depending on the substrate, a Ts activity (which we don't see at night to often) causes all Ts get dusty, dirty, and old webby...they are SPIDERS!:p
Secular...I love your emilia pic...lovey T!
I would not suggest getting an arboreal T for starters due to some of thier special needs.... a. versicolor is one of the most beautiful Ts but I'd suggest a terrestial.
Only three choice will blow yer mind and are easy to care for as well as...
