    C.meridionalis question......

    1. i think a link to Guy's pictures would be more appropriate :shame: 2. meridionalis are very variable in colour, no matter if male or female, the pics you show are of adult specimens not juveniles or sub adults. yes, males do show different colour when mature, most sp. do. 3. are you...

How do you photograph your spiders?

i use my trusty fujifilm S3000 for web and family 'snaps', it has a good zoom and a macro adequate for my purposes. dont forget that: 1. most pictures are cropped and resized down to around 800x600, or less, for internet use, they are also compressed to shrink the filesize, so most pics seen...

    color enhancing fish flakes?

the Ascorbic acid/Vitamin C is added as a booster for the immune system. Unfortunately this is a big hype thing as vitamin C is destroyed by heat above 70C and oxygen  the manufacturing of most 'processed' foodstuffs, be it animal or human, entails cooking at above this...

    just got new 10mp camera

it's not like one of them Otech things they sell on e-bay is it? it's not the amount of pixels you have, it's how the light reaches them and what you do with them that counts. IMO always buy a brand known in the photography world: Nikon, Fuji, Kodak, Olympus etc (Sony are pretty good...

    H.Lividum was hurt !!

if you hadn't have dug her out she would have been content in her burrow and wouldn't have cared if you had misted her enclosure. why did you dig her out btw? most fossorial species become pet holes, part of the nature of the beast i'm afraid. all you acheive while digging out is...

    H. lividum - Double Molt?!

well, it's physically impossible. the spider will still have been 'soft' from the first moult and so wouldn't have been able to remove itself plus the second exuvium would have been larger. either someone is playing a trick on you, or you have quite innocently mixed them up.
