    green snakes, any info?

This month's issue of Reptiles magazine has an article devoted to their captive care. It's a good article and you might consider picking up a copy.

    Reptile mites affecting Ts?

To the best of my knowledge they are harmful only to reptiles. That dosen't mean their presence won't annoy/stress your T's and scorps, but it shouldn't harm them. They will also die off without a reptile host, so move your inverts to another household while you are infested if you can. You...

    Wild spiders in cativity?

I have caught many "house" spiders and provided housing and care for them. It's quite rewarding to watch them carry out their lives and become more than something scurrying up the wall. :)

    Corn snake still not eating.

A snake in shed rarely eats - but they come out of it very hungry.

    beginner scorp advise

Hadogenes species are great IMO. Large, aggressive, reluctant to sting, and active in the evenings (at least mine are).

    Corn snake still not eating.

my routine for non feeders Put it in a much smaller enclosure - a Sterlite box is usually my choice Cover all the sides except one to help the animal feel more secure Up the temps a bit - IMO your 65 degree cool side is too cool anyhow Leave it be for a few days to settle in to it's new...

Help needed on Emperor Scorpion Problem...

Looks like there is some on the inside of the enclosure as well. Clean out that whole enclosure, try and wipe some of the crap off the animal, up the ventilation and see how it goes.

    Looking for a new pet

I'm sorry your snake is a tough guy! There are some things you can do to calm it down - first off is choose the times you are working with the animal. When it's hungry or sleepiing is not good. Approach gently and slowly. Wear gloves, or in the case of a smaller snake, I like to wear socks on my...

    Cameras

I have a cheap 4.0 pix Kodak as well and you are right about the lighting. My camera needs very bright light to take a clear picture. Try to light up your subject more and your results will be acceptable. And don't use the digital zoom either - that makes everything fuzzier.

    Need help with baby corn!

Hi! How big is the animal. If it's beyond pinkies, size wize, it's possible it's refusing the food because it simply dosent like it. Try fuzzies or hoppers. Have you tried scenting the pinkies? Young corns can be (occasionally) difficult to get feeding on rodents. Try rubbing a feeder anole...

    Heating?

What kind of millipede is it? Most tropical species need warmth, in my opinion, to thrive. Heat from above or the side - never the bottom.

bathing ball pythons and other Q's

That is another ignorant comment. Baby corn snakes are snappy - baby Balls are not. What beginner want's to get bitten? That's not a good way to begin as a keeper. But if YOU say I have no experience, then it must be true. It simply must!

bathing ball pythons and other Q's

A 5ft. Ball? Ok, we have some real "experts" here don't we. A good maintance schedule for an adult ball is 1 large mouse or small rat per week. Females will grow larger than males, but RARELY will they approach the 5' mark. Ball pythons naturally have small heads and heavy bodies. They...

    Looking for a new pet

Smaller hamsters. IME, corns are crepscular (sp?) - active during dusk and dawn as well as nocturnal. They are nippy as babies, sometimes up to a year. If it's your first snake (I'll get loads of slack on this one) I REALLY don't recommend a corn at all. Most Kingsnakes are better and my...

    Help!P. irminia feeding problems

Temps sound very good. How about prey size? Perhaps housing is inadequate? Maybe it's just stressed out and will come around in time. You'd be surprised how long a healthy T can fast with no ill effects - kind of like your constrictors ;)

    Help!P. irminia feeding problems

Temps? Is it in an air conditioned room? A cooler spider (in my personal experience) will go off feed. Perhaps warm it up a bit? Alternate foods? Wax worms usually get my most finicky animals eating.
