What do your friends and family think about your Ts

It helps keep my family away. My friends have said if my house is leveled by a tornado or the likes, I'm screwed, they're not coming near it to help me. Uneducated fear makes fools of all people not willing to learn more about what scares them.

I Think My Ball Python Is Dying :(

While I agree with the need for an immediate vet visit, raising the temps till you get it to one is what I've had to do for one of my BP's, for 2 days till I got it into the vet (happened over the weekend). I put it in a clean tank, with high humidity and temps around 90 deg. F . By the time i...

Why did you get into spiders?

Hmmm... never noticed this thread before. Got my first T, a Rosehair, from a girlfriend for my birthday. got rid of the girlfriend, kept the T. Good choice there, never regretted it. Got a new Female friend, and now have 46 T's, a few snakes, frogs, and a spoiled Rat. Lifes not bad.

    Name your T's!

Too many to list here due to the fact I'm too lazy to do it. But a few are: My first T, a Rosehair is Bob, My Ornata is Tarantulasaurus Rex. Ok, I'm worn out for now.

    Pterinochilus murinus

    P. Murinus have a tendancy to be Terrestrials/Burrowers for the most part. occasionally mine to wander up to the top of their enclosures. But 99% of the time they're burrowed, coming out to feed and that's about it. So my opinion is floor space with an adequately deep substrate to allow...

    P.MURINUS! help!

Based on my experiences with my OBT's: Always know where they are before opening their enclosure and never take for granted they'll retreat. Because of their speed, if they make a break for it, it'll be hard to close the enclosure fast enough without risking that you'll hurt the T. Great T's...

    P.cambridgei

I had the same problem with my Cambridgei, thought I was going to lose it as well. Always afraid I was going to open the enclosure to a dead T. Fortunately, it finally started to eat, just keep offering proper sized crickets everyday or so. Keep a fresh supply of clean water and don't give up...

    Help! Babysitting snake!

I've always kept the practice of feeding my snakes in a separate tank than the one they live in so they don't associate any entry into their enclosure as introduction of food. Some may think this as foolish, but upon being placed into the feeding tank I've seen their attention level jump to a...

    Eco-Earth GoodFor G. Rosea?

I pretty much use EcoEarth, sometimes mixed with Peat sometimes without, for all my T's now. I've noticed less time of acclimation, judging from the T's behavior. The drawback to EcoEarth in my opinion is how long it can take to dry out sufficiently to use it with the drier species. But worth...

My A. seemanni likes to dig

Mine seem to enjoy filling their water bowls with heaped up piles of substrate on a daily basis. Then when I'm cleaning the bowls back out, they come out of their hides, set there, as if mocking my work. You gotta love their seemingly coherent attitude.

    what happened to this T?

I believe There's some writing on the area below the photo that stated it was a victim of a Tarantula wasp. Looks like some kind of parasite burrowed its way out, sorta like on Alien.

    Which Arboreal?

I once swore I'd never own a Pokey, now i have 3 of them, the biggest is a mean a** Ornata. Great T's if you don't handle them. I'm addicted to them now, I just hate transferring them. As far as the recommendation of a P. Cambridgei, as a first Arborreal I'd have to say probably not a good idea...

    Fire Frogs as feeders

This 'frog' of yours, is it possible it is a firebelly toad instead? If so, it does in fact create an irritating secretion from its skin. And if it a Bombina Bombina, or a Bombina Orientalis, I would highly recommend you not only DON'T feed it to your T, but be sure you wash your hands...

    P.regalis vs P.ornata

Buy them both, that's what I did. My Ornata is around 4-4.5 in. mean as hell and eats pinkies. My Regalis (two of them) are 2 in. long sneaky and fast as hell. One got otu and it took me the better part of an hour to catch it for good. The Regalis also already have an attitude. Personally I...

    eat eat eat pop?

I have a 4-1/2 in. Ornata that consumed two pinkies in a time span of around twelve hours last weekend. I believe it's actually a Pigalitheria Ornata, what a beasty little T.

    Pet Rat died today.

My condolensces, My G/F brought home a brown rat, and for some reason my BP will only hit white rats. So now it's a pet rat. I was surprized how easy it is to get attached to the fuzzy little bastard. Now it gets spoiled, acts just like a kid.
