Attitude like mine? Look through my post history and see if you still feel the same way. I am sensing much more hostility in response to my question to my question that I ever remembered noticing back when I was much more active within the community.
Seems rather smug. I feel like I've been rather clear. I'm looking for suggestions, I've listed the criteria, I've indicated that I will do all the research that I need to come to a decision that works well for me. Me. I don't understand why you would need to make some type of judgment based on...
Vampire crabs are really cool looking!
I would love to do a paladarium someday, but I don't think that day is today. 🙂 But, in the future, I would love to do something with some vampire crabs!
I will certainly be taking a look into the dart frogs and day geckos. Thank you for your recommendations!
I appreciate that your responded to my post. The scope of my love for animals is rather large. But my knowledge of which animals will THRIVE in the niche that I'm willing to provide and meet just a few criteria is rather limited. But this is a requirement. I have a particular aesthetic that I...
I have a 75 Gallon aquarium tank that Is like to use for a communal enclosure of sorts. I'm looking for recommendations on species that are active and preferably colorful or easy to see against common or preferred substrate. Not interested in a pet rock.
I might be interested in scorpions if...
I really love the 7I female. Do you consider these fairly hot? I'm finding mixed info on them. The LD50 looked pretty potent but I read a caresheet that claimed they weren't that bad. Wikipedia said their venom had systemic effects that are occasionally fatal.
I just got my 2 H. spinifers a few weeks ago and I was sure that they would be enough... Well, I'm ready for another and an leaning toward B. jacksoni or gigas. They are both quite beautiful.
Good news - after moving the substrate around for about half an hour, I decided to dump it out onto a cookie sheet and found the other scorpling alive and well. I rehoused them into a smaller container.
If one of my H. spinifer babies ate the other, should I expect to find remains? There's a lot of substrate for burrowing and I'm going to look more after work, but I'm skeptical that the second one is still around as my substrate was tightly packed and I didn't see anything resembling a burrow...
I'm new to scorpions and am keeping a couple Heterometrus spinifer scorplings. They look much like an emperor scorpion but are supposed to be feistier. I wouldn't know as I've never had emperors. I'd never consider freehanding, so I don't care. I think their claws are neater looking.
Eh, after doing a bit of research, I'm going to skip the roaches. There are too many people in my family with allergies and asthma that I don't want to risk bringing them in. I suppose I remember hearing that cockroaches were allergenic I had really only ever thought of the pest species as a...
Thanks. I was getting ready to put them into separate 4.5" x 6" x 2.5" gladware containers and then putting those back in the 5.5 gal opposite to the heat lamp. Sites that seem pretty reasonable?
If I could keep the dubia population sustaining and not exploding, then perhaps. I'm also thinking about the Cuban banana roaches. I know they fly but they look so cool. Lats seem like they'd be easy, but it looks like they would overpopulate.
I have 1 sub adult B. albopilosum, 3 slings at least 1/2 inch each, and 2 H. spinifer scorplings. Aside from roaches, this as as big as my invert collection is going to get for awhile. I would like to get a colony going that will sustain this small collection but not overrun me. I would also...
