Well, my second breeding attempt with Lampropelma violaceopes did not pan out. I pulled the sac on 7/24/14 (day thirty after discovering it with her), made a hammock-style incubator for them and just last week, all were desiccated. :-(
I knew it should not have taken so long for development...
I do love spiders but wasps are cool, too and she's only doing what her instincts tell her how to provide for her offspring. It goes to show that even with these fierce predators, there is still something even fiercer. Spiders actually do have a lot of predators; birds, lizards, frogs...
Well, that is still helpful, demented! Least now I can cross that off the probable list. These things are strong, too. I couldn't even move a tiny one an inch so they definitely have some strong muscles!
Don't know what these are. Maybe any early stage of a more well-known animal, like a starfish? :-/

Managed to sex the two I have both girls; one had her adult molt two weeks ago. Got them a male last week and looks like he's getting along with the first girl.
I don't sleep when a T is out. I spend my night tearing my room apart. One time I found my P.regalis sling within a computer monitor, was relieved to find it but too tired to take the thing apart so I just made a barrier to make sure it stayed there until tomorrow.
Depends on their size. Tiny spiderlings just get a cricket back leg. Young, medium-size ones and adults get crickets, mealworms and waxworms and any adults that can hold them down - superworms and hornworms.
Anyone know some stores where I can buy lots of pollen(yes they can be online stores)? I used to get it in pills from a health food store but that has since closed.
I have a bottle of pills left but will need more. These guys are pigs!
Start a compost heap and keep it moist and in a shaded place. I've caught more than a dozen in ours. They're very cool! The mothers carry their eggs under their abdomen (least the ones I had did)
