    Interesting Rosea Behavior

Vermiculite fever Vermiculite can be a tough subsrate for a spider to get used to, maybe try mixing peat or topsoil with it. Would be interesting to see if his posture changes any. Nice spider by the way.

    House centipede

I found this one just after dark crawling on the side of the house. I can't believe the speed these little demons have. It's munching on ten day old crickets, I think I'll try larger next time. Here's another pic:

what the heck is this weird thing?

WOW!!!! That is one impressive caterpillar. I was searching for a ID for that guy, but could only come up with one caterpillar that barely came close. Megalopyge opercularis looks to be on the same wave length, but not really. Man what the heck was that thing? "DON"T TOUCH IT!!!!"

    Myths you've heard about T's

Heard, if a tarantula gets loose in the house, it will sit and wait seeking out the heat given off by the human body. When sensed will leap out and attack. Also so was instructed that my avics venom is strong enough to take down like 6 elephants. (these were both quoted by individuals at local...

    MALE COBALT??? Help Identifing

No, he was never blue, or any other color besides what he is now(he might have been a little darker as a sling). But, I have done some research and have not had a clear understanding of coloration on the adult male hap. lividum. I took my chances and stuck him in, knowing the possibility of...

    MALE COBALT??? Help Identifing

Bought this guy about two years ago as a Haplopelma Lividum sling, it's now some type of mature male. I have attempted to breed with female Haplopelma Lividum, they lived with each other for about two weeks. He ended up with a missing leg, otherwise tip top shape. Don't know if they mated or...

    Spiderling Humidity

I agree and see the point in keeping the tank on dry side, (the chance of mites in a wet cage is not worth it) but there is a greater chance of dehydration in the spider kept in a dryer tank environment. (especially the tropical spiders) I guess you just have to monitor the spider closely, and...

    please help

Just wanted to say that i have kind of the same situation with my H. lividum pair. About two weeks ago i made the decision to introduce the male and let them have as much time as they needed to get freaky. To my surprise the male is still alive with her and is doing great. I have talked to a...

    New to the site/Tarantulas.

Very sweet collection Seems people become addicted very fast in this hobbie, bad ass spiders by the way. I think this forum is one of the best things that has ever happened to this hobbie, and it will continue to provide hobbiest and breeders with the opportunity to breath new life into many...

    Yes another Growth Rate Question

It's about 2-3 inches and already showing nice yellow colors on the under side. I love this guy. Yeah this guy is damn quick, he had about ten seconds of freedom during the tank transfer today. That made my heart skip a beat.
