    Looking for a certain T

Hello! Some while ago I saw a picture of a really neat tarantula and I think it was here on the Boards. As far as I recall it, it was an African spider, possibly aboreal. The peculiar thing about it was that the posterior pair of legs had really long hairs on them, making it look almost as if...

    Feeding T. blondi

It's not scientific to just grab could-be facts out of the thin air, because someone heard a lecture at a conference. If you'd like to participate in the discussion on a serious level you have got to deliver some references on your statements. Papers or research reports for example. Or at the...

    Feeding T. blondi

Yes, and every time i feed a vertebrate to one of my spiders 16 chinese die. That doesn't necessarily mean that theres a connection. :) Let's please keep the discussion on a scientific level. /Cheers!

    Feeding T. blondi

I've been in the hobby for 11 years and I've never had a problem with malnutrition in any of my animals. I'd sure like to see a reference on that Ca/Mg statement? Or at least a more detailed description than "a negative reaction". /Cheers!

    Feeding T. blondi

It depends on the weight of the subject at hand. Fuzzy mice (about 5cm body) are given every 8-12 days and adult mice once a month. The same goes for lizards and anoles. Compare the weight of the live feeder to the weight of the little furry ball left in the corner by the spider (they won't eat...

    Feeding T. blondi

I don't bother feeding my mature blondies crickets. Once they reach 9"+ crix are like snacks to them. Instead i can highly recommend feeding them small vertebrates and now and then maybe a large roach or a couple of crickets as a supplement. It's so much easier that way. :) /Cheers!

    Lizards on the Danish moors.

Me and my girlfriend were out looking for Vipera berus on the moors of Jutland. The weather was a bit cloudy with some rain, so no viperids, but we did find some forest lizards: 0.0.1 Lacerta vivipara 0.0.1 L. vivipara (This specimen was missing it's tail) 0.0.1 L. vivipara...

    Albino Corn Snake

This is probably a silly question, but wouldn't an albino lack all pigmentation? Isn't this variation just amelanistic? /Cheers!

When feeders tug at your heart...

My girlfriend gets awfully attatched to both feeder mice and rats. It don't bother me though. But then again, I would use leprechauns as feeders if the snakes could swallow them. :D

    bufo alvarius

I've been looking for B. alvarius myself without the slightest bit of luck. Are you looking specifically for alvarius because of it's entheogenic effects or is there some other purpose behind this? :) /Cheers!

Southern Pacific Rattlesnake In the Field

That's awesome! Children have a truly natural fascination with animals. It's cool to see parents take active part in this. I think that's one of the moste effective ways of biological preservation. To make people interested in and care for herps and the environment as a whole from childhood. You...

    White lipped palm vipers

*Spidershoppe* Oh, you own that site? I've been drooling over your pics quite a number of times! Your pics are awesome. I really like Atheris as well, but if I don't limit myself somehow there would be no end to my herp-purchases. :D Therefore I mainly keep crotalids. I'm really fascinated by...

    White lipped palm vipers

Yes, unfortunately. I've seen a lot of people behave rather reckless around several species of Tremerisurus. It's definitely not a genus to be trifled with.

Nice setup and beautiful coloration. C. durissus is certainly one of my favourite crotalids. Good luck raising him. /Cheers!
