I second Shell's explanation and just wanted to add, the Az Blond and G. rosea are two of the slower growing tarantulas. I have an adult rosea that went 19 months between molts and an AZ Aphonopelma that is on 25 months and showing no premolt behavior/signs.

    Herping in NJ?

I grew up in Roxbury. If you can make your way to Hopatcong, Bear Pond is an awesome place to find everything. There was an old Boy Scout camp up there where I used to go fishing and herping. Great fishing!! Careful though, used to see a lot of Copperheads. *I haven't been back in years...

brag: I got my first tarantula :)

Concerning whether or not it is fully grown, A. metallica gets to a very nice size. My adult female is pushing a 7 inch DLS. I also don't keep her enclosure too humid, full waterdish, overflow it once a week. Works for me.

    provent a mite

Do not use it for your tarantulas!!!!! I am reading the can as I type. "Do not use in the vicinity of arachnids or amphibians" "It's vapors will kill spiders and insects"

Awesome T, enjoy it. Haven't seen mine for months. She created a web/substrate cocoon in the corner of her tank and is very reclusive.
