This isn't the place to discuss this, but I have heard wonderful things about Tarantula, Inc. I have also, personally, had several amazing dealings with them.
I have an adult female and she's definitely more skittish than A. avic. I have raised her from a sling and she's been very easy to care for. I care for her just like my other avics.
I have never had a pokie come at me with their fangs barred, but I have had psalmo's do that more than once. In my opinion, psalmo's have proven to be a lot more defensive and more likely to bite. Of course, that's just my experience.
I don't think it's a good idea. I also don't see how they are similar. To me, their temperaments are nothing alike. Psalmos are way more high strung. I also wasn't aware that their venom was similar.
I have shipped bulk(all in one container) many times without any problems. As long as you don't wait too long after they molt to 2nd instar you should be fine. Just make sure you put enough padding in the container.
I can think of 2 negatives. First, they flick a lot when disturbed, but that is only a problem if you are allergic to the hairs. Second, they aren't the easiest things to breed. Other than that, they are my favorite species. :)
Congrats on a beautiful t! That's the oddest packing I've ever seen. I've never seen anyone use a toilet paper roll and newspaper in the container. Seems to have worked pretty well!
I joined the board before I joined the hobby. I was here for about 2 months before I got my first t. I believe in educating yourself before getting a pet. :)
I was there about 5 1/2 years ago. I put myself through a homemade type therapy. Even though I have a lot of t's and breed them, there are still times when the fear tries to creep back into my life. I have to talk myself out of the fear when it returns. It usually returns when a t runs...
