Last week she was running all over, made a web mat, was doing great. Yesterday she just quit moving. She is in a death curl now. I've had her since she was the size of my fingernail and thought for sure she would live 20 years. I don't know what could have gone wrong, she was fine for 8...
I've been on here for awhile looking at all different bug pictures trying to figure out what has infested my Ephebopus cyanognathus Blue Fang Skeleton tarantula enclosure. I will attach a photo, they are white but I also see them brown - they move very quickly but do not fly. I'm pretty sure...
Yes, isopods...could not think of what they were called. I'm thinking there must be dead cricket or roach bodies in there, because my t's have never had an odor before. Hate disrupting their homes, but I may just end up cleaning everything out. They have all been in the same substrate for...
The past month or so I have noticed all the enclosures smell like death or something. At first I thought maybe my h. mac had died because I never see her but she hasn't. I have a lot of those little white and orange bugs that eat stuff - other than that I don't know what to do to get rid of...
My rose hair use to eat like a pig until he/she molted about 5 weeks ago. Hasn't eaten since, shows no interest in food at all. Just a year old so isn't a mature male. I looked closely and he/she has fangs - I just don't understand why a once ravenous eater is suddenly showing no interest in...
I agree with the above poster. They are so cute when they are little like that - then turn that brilliant orange. I also had 3 and one died shortly after arriving. I think it is also coincidence and just nature. Think of the hundreds that were born, they can't all survive.
That was an interesting article and something I have always wondered about. The temperature in my house, especially this time of year, will fluctuate between 65 at night and 80 during the day - and it has never seemed to bother my t's one bit. Lately I have been turning the heater on 70 at...
Well Boris, I appreciate your input. Check back when I get more pictures....and do what I do on here, just ignore the rude people. It was nice of you to ask questions, that is how we learn.
They are in Las Vegas. I know, I don't know what people are thinking. When she told me her nephew got a tarantula (on the phone) I said I wanted to talk to him about caring for it, and this little kid gets on the phone. I'm like what the heck? She will be visiting them next weekend and said...
Thanks, I will ask for better pictures and post them when I get them. I just want to make sure they are caring for it properly once I find out what it is. Never knew what curly haired meant.....see you learn something new every day.:)
My friend's nephew brought this tarantula home. He is only 6 years old! He said his name is "Mustache" and it is a girl, 9 years old........But they have NO clue what kind of tarantula it is and he keeps holding it. Kind of upsets me.......well...actually it does upset me. I filled them in...
I've been out of the loop for awhile. Is centuroides exilicauda the same as sculpturatus? I remember last time I was on here, which seems like ages ago, that sculpturatus isn't even named anymore or something. I don't know. In any case, thanks - it's a bark scorpion, maybe just a well fed one...
Found this guy on the back porch, but it doesn't look like other c. sculpts. I'm always finding. The body is about 3/4" and the tail is about 1". Just seems darker, experts, what's your take?
