Thanks!
It depends on each individual but I here Nuu Ana leachie tend to be more docile.
My female Pine Island has been chill since she was smaller and I barely take her out. When I do, she won’t try to bite. My 3 year old daughter holds her.
First and third pic are baby gargoyles I hatched out last year. Second pic is the dad of the babies. Fourth and fifth pic is of my female pine island giant gecko. She’s my favorite animal. Hope to have a male for her soon.
Not sure if anyone here keeps them. These guys are so much fun to have. Super active, inquisitive, and the personality of a big lizard.
First vid is drinking some water
Second vid is the female turning down male’s advances
Last vid is feeding
I’ve always been partial to arboreal tarantulas. So no surprise that my first tarantulas in over ten years would be avics. These are from Guyana. That’s pretty much all I know. Most like likely avic avic.
Anyway, I hope to slowly add more of my pics to this thread. For now here are two pics of...
Came across this just now and thought it was pretty cool. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/2019/02/tarantula-kills-opossum-first-time-photos-video/
I agree that it’s not practical for a big collection and yes, none of these things are required to keep healthy tarantulas. I love keeping plants, in addition to keeping t’s so for me it’s cool to combine the two. In the past I did set up some natural vivs for a couple of my t’s. They weren’t...
You can skip the drainage layer. Those are used to keep plant roots from becoming too wet in overly saturated soil. That's only a concern if you're using a misting system with frequent misting. The plants depend on how strong your lighting is and humidity requirements. I like to use medium...
Hello Everyone,
I thought I’d reintroduce myself. I think I signed up here in 2002. I had a pretty big and varied tarantula collection around that time. I sold everything in 2006 to focus on breeding snakes. I never lost interest in tarantulas but life made it difficult for me to jump back into...
Alissa hit it on the the nail. There are only high yellow chondros.
You can often find high yellow animals from proven bloodlines for sale here:

GootySapphire,
There are no red adult green tree pythons (Morelia viridis). There are high yellow animals, blue, mite phase, high white, or a mixture of these colors. These animals come from proven bloodlines that consistently produce offspring who retain these colors and they are not cheap...
You are very lucky person. Cuba has some spectacular herps. I'd love to see some wild cuban crocs. At any rate you can find a list of herp sp. here:

Take plenty of pics:)

Zoos do not feed live to mammalian predators (fish is the exception). Enrichment entails hiding food throughout exhibits, constructing "toys" to stimulate the animal's mind, encasing food in blocks of ice, placing different scents throughout the exhibit, and other things that do not require...
King cobras (Ophiophagus hannah) are. Ophiophagus literally means snake eater. It was given this name because it includes snakes in its diet. They prey on everything from rat snakes to cobras (including other king cobras) and kraits. They will also feed on other reptiles and occationally...
I would not count on color alone to identify these species. Morelia viridis colors can range from solid yellow, blue, green and yellow, and even specimens with plenty of black or white scales. These colors are found in wild M.viridis and have been some colors have been bred for through...
I'm sorry Raqua, I don't know what you mean by lossy format. I did not say jpeg gets better when you convert it to tiff. Please take your time reading someone's post before you call it nonsense! I said it is a better archival format. This is one hundred percent true. Tiff slows down your...
