I don't remember the scientific name for the Costa Rican Red, but I know it is a Brachypelma. But the pet store probably just mislabeled a B. Vagans.
I presumed there was nothing wrong with them, just making sure.
I have a Rosehair and a Costa Rican Red, but they have yet to use their hides. They used them in the past. They had Styrofoam cups for a while, and I decided they didn't like them so I started using flower pots. They still don't use them.
I'd rather not pay a bajillion dollars for some at Petsmart. That's the only store around me. The greatest pet store in the whole tri state area closed.
Both of my tarantulas, a G. rosea, and B. something (a Costa Rican Red, I actually think it's a Red Rump) are not utilizing their hiding places. They always have in the past.
They're two styrofoam cups cut in half, and partially buried.
Nothing happened! I'm just really dumb, I worry about stupid stuff. I forgot where I put my cell phone, and I started thinking worst case scenario and couldn't get it out of my head.

2 days. I'm going to get some mealworms so he'll eat someday, since I can refrigerate those, and I'll try to get him used to the canned food. He was very friendly in the petstore, but when I tried to pick him up into his new house, he yelped and hissed, and he does the same thing with the...
I'm gonna go to an online site and buy some mealworms and calcium/d3 dust, and maybe a Bugbox. I'll junk the canned food, cause it isn't working for him. It's pretty gross too. They are gutloaded, and juicy, but he won't take em, and they smell terrible.
He very obviously doesn't like being bothered right now, how can I get him to adjust to his new home? I bought a can o' crickets, what else should I feed him? Where can I get nutritional supplements that you guys recommend?
I've dangled that mouse around for 30 minutes, and I did the same thing the past 2 weeks. She hasn't been even interested in food. She doesn't even look at it. Her cage is heated properly and everything, she isn't shedding. It's getting on my nerves. Any suggestions?
