P Imperator keeping advice? Analyze her behavior!

Is its tail laying flat out? Other than if that is happening it looks decent to me. It doesn't look too skinny, actually it looks like a healthy weight. Also I would keep the substrate more moist.

    Interesting...

It was using it's tail for grooming. I notice my B jacksonis do the same thing after I mist. They use the tail to get those hard to reach places. They use their mouth to clean their tail that they are grooming with. It was probably drinking too, but just from the droplets on the side of the...

    Strange!!!

I had a "lost" (fell behind bookcase) container of superworms before and I when I found it a few weeks later i opened it. And there were still some live worms but there was also some type of moth-like creature tried flying out. Any ideas on that?

Question about Scorpion heat requirements and moisture

24 C is a good temp for the desert hairy or an emperor (pandinus imperator). I think that 24 C should be an adequate temperature for pretty much any scorp. Like what H loaticus said see what is available and do some research on those scorps and you should find out pretty easily if that...

    ok what gives!?

Premolt? My V Spinigerus is doing the same thing, and it has never been introduced to another scorp, and it is also immature. I guess it could be gravid, but just from my experience I am saying it is premolt. Only time will tell. On a side note, if it is gravid and premolt could it molt...

    ok what gives!?

It looks too immature to be gravid. The telson is too creamy/white, not the mature maroon/red. I think it is going to molt soon.

    please help my rose hair

How big is it, and some pictures of it dragging its body would help. If it is closing its legs around its body it sounds kind of like a death curl. But pictures would help alot. Also pictures of the enclosure.

    Feeding Babies

I feed my 2i spinigerus cricket parts. I take a medium to large sized cricket and tear it apart and put a part in each enclosure. 1 cricket will feed 3-6ish scorps depending on how you break up the cricket.

    please help. new owner.

That sounds normal they are not too a give but will be more active at night. They can go awhile with out eating and it is probally getting usedto its new enclosure. Also how big is it, I wouldn't trust what the pet store tells you about the age. By the way welcome to the hobby and the boards!

    Help!!!!!!!!

They are both fine from what you are saying. The temp is fine. The rosie will go long times with out eating. The scorp will too. As long as they are not losing a bunch of weight they will be fine. Also what is the humidity of both enclosures. Pics of the enclosures and inverts will help too.

BIY Help Needed (P. Imp Terrarium)

I would say that 75 mm (2.95 in) is not deep enough. But you can slope the substrate, so it is deeper in the back of the enclosure and maybe give it a premade burrow going towards the back where the deeper substrate is. Also a ceramic heat emitted might be too much for a single enclosure. I...

    Dirt from outside for substrate?

It may contain harmful chemicals or bacteria/parisites, but if you wash it then bake it, it should be fine. I have used sand from the beach before. I haven't done it in awhile now so someone else might say I am completely wrong or they may agree. But I would ad use against just grabbing some...

Why is my emperor scorpion green?

Either what caco said or it is seasick. Most likely the UV though.

    Baby H. arizonensis?

I would say you are correct. It is an H. Arizonensis (Desert Hairy). Nice find!

    my h.longimanus has just molted...

I would suggest getting rid of the gravel substrate. Use potting soil or even better coco fiber.

    Tunnel collapse on emperor scorpion

Also next time a burrow collapses on an emp, you don't have to dig them out. They built a burrow, so they can dig their way out. This way it will save you trouble and time not having to repack the substrate.

    AZ Scorpion Hunting Questions

My job will have me heading down to Casa Grande, AZ. I was wondering if the AZ experts know what species are down there. I don't think I will really be able to go to the desert, just mainly around the hotel. Any hints/tips would be appreciated. Thanks

    Question on age

males only get hooks and bulbs when they mature (adults). So you won't be able to tell if it is a male by that way, until it is an adult. And judging by the size of 2.5 inches it is not an adult.

    help!!! my scorp gave birth

crush the head of a cricket and put it in the enclosure, but don't try to put the cricket near her. If she is hungry she will find the dead cricket and eat it. I know that my V. spinigerus (my first brood) she didn't eat for a while after she gave birth, but I did offer dead food in the...
