    molt or death

my heterometrus spinifer is laying in a very wierd position, kind of on it's side. It is full grown, it's giving birth in the past. Do they molt when they are full size, or is my little lady on the doorstep of death?

    New home = running laps

I just moved my A. Metallica to large new tank and it's been running laps for three days straight. I hope I'm right in assuming it will eventually settle down and web up. Am I worrying for nothing, or maybe is there something I can do to make him more confortable?

    baby A. metallica problem

When I got my A. metallica sling, it was about the same size. To my knowledge, it would generally speaking only take a few hours to molt, but sometimes would stay on it's back for a while after. Give it another 12-16 hours, and if it hasn't moved, poke it with the dull end of a stick.

    New A. Versi setup

The general rule of thumb with regards to "escape holes" is that if their abdomen can fit, everything can fit. As long as the holes are smaller than the abdomen, the ma-fa's tip top.

    Versis storing food for post-moult?

heavy webbing is a sure sign a molt is coming, at least with my a. metallica, a close cousin of your versicolors. I've notice sometimes "stores" food as well, but haven't noted any connection between storing food and molting.

    Hand feeding !?!

I've recently discovered that my a. metallica will eat crickets from my finger tips. She (I hope it's a she) is only 2 inches, so I'm not too worried about a bite. She hangs out near the lid of the container I keep her in, so I just open it near her and hold the cricket infront of her. I've...

    heterometrus pregnant again !?!?

In November, my heterometrus sp gave birth to a small clutch of babies. I've noticed that recently she's begun to put on some serious weight again. Is it possible for her to be pregnant again? I know some species can be pregnant multiple times from one mating, but I'm not sure if heterometrus...

    fun feeding

What are the chances of convincing my full size heterometrus sp. to eat an anole? I grow weary of watching it eat crickets, and it won't touch worms of any sort.

    Good Starter Tarantulas?

Pokies are great starter T's. Or H. Lividum. T. Blondie are nice as well. These species are all very docile and LOVE to be handled. I'm just kidding... Get the pink toe. Bracypelma grow too slowly.

the abdomen seems to be healthy size. It's not as big as I'd like it, but not as bad as I've seem it after molts.
