Thanks again for the awesome info Martin! Great pic too! I think that with the extra features etc I'm leaning toward the 50D. I've gone through a lot of the pros and cons and I think it will still be the best choice, especially with the nominal cost difference. I've checked around and I...
I've been reading reviews online and I've been hearing similar opinions that overall the 50D wasn't a huge improvement over the 40D and in some areas the 40D even performed better due to the problems associated with a higher megapixel count. Anyone else have experience with these models? I'm...
Hey Martin,
Thanks for the awesome info! Alain said that you and he both use Canons so that was influencing my decision :) I can do a lot of reading, but I prefer to hear from those experienced with invert photography as for all I know, a certain camera that's great for one thing, might not...
Thanks for the info!
The plan is to "go big or go home" and then grow into the setup :) I've heard lots of good reports on the Canon D-SLR's and I know of a number of people who use them with great results.
I've got a guy I work with who is quite hardcore into photography and he's...
Hey Everyone,
I just did some searching and couldn't find a good thread with recent info so hopefully this isn't a duplicate of an existing resource! This seems to be the appropriate section of the forum as there are some incredible shots here!
Currently, all we own is a straight forward...
6th Annual BC Arachnoparty Flyer!
Hey All,
With huge names like Rick West and the Shcultz's coming we hope to pull a large group!
Please print out this flyer(looks best in colour!) and post it in your local pet stores, community bulletin boards, exotics clubs etc.
We'll soon have our...
Prekilled works perfectly fine for small slings when you don't have extremely small crickets. As others have mentioned, just keep up on your spot cleaning for what's not eaten as there are usually leftovers that can get messy if they're not cleaned up right away. I'm not sure what you've got...
Definitely add to the collection gradually so you get more experienced as you go. Also, ensure you have the time to commit to putting into a large collection. It's also good to think about contingencies like what you'll do when you go on vacation etc.
Boanerges is right in that it's...
Tokays in general tend to be pigs and the large size they reach opens up the door for larger prey items as well. In general, use various feeder insects and as they get larger, you can try pinky/fuzzy mice as well. Be sure to use tongs, these guys are pretty but many are they angry! I've seen...
The only real escapees I've had came from a friend that "helps" me feed the T's sometimes :) I guess his reflexes aren't quite as developed as mine as there always seems to be something that sneaks out while he's feeding it, especially smaller slings :) I'm pretty sure I now have a full grown...
Congrats! Those T's will satisfy you for a while, but before long you'll be wanting more and more! Trust me, it's a VERY addictive hobby! Always good to come across another BC-er as well!
I've seen 2 MONSTER P. rufilata that blew my mind! Easily pushing 8"! I'm not sure if this is the norm or if these were just exceptionally large specimens as most of my other girls are still young. I've had a few fairly large P. regalis as well and they're probably the species that gets the...
Luckily I was fortunate enough to have a wife that allowed me to build a nice big shop to keep everything in :) It filled up fast though!
Here are strategies that are both economical and space saving that have helped me out a lot!
For shelving, I use heavy duty black plastic shelving that...

Don't forget, Rick West will be there...
Well, after 2 years of working with breeders, waiting and disappointments, our little boy finally arrived! He hails all the way from Eldorado, Texas and it was quite a trip to get him here!
He's a black male Great Dane from a very well bred line.
He's a cutie and he knows it :P
Here...
I have a big communal setup filled with 2 1/2" - 3" and they all have the band. If yours doesn't have a band then it could very likely be P. fasciata. They look very similar. I actually had 2 big communal setups in the same type of containers and they got mistakenly labeled until I noticed...
