Hi guys,
How's it going?
I got a A. Geniculata sling (a little over 1" LS) at the AES Kempton Park Show (in the UK) the other day. It was only after I got the little guy home that I noticed he has only got one spinneret! He has tried to web with his one spinneret a few times but I do not...
HI Guys,
I am sooo confused now!!! :? This whole sexing thing is just way above me!
Anyways, I have quite a few ornata's that looks like the one in the pic posted by truhlik. About 35/38 mm in body length. Their dorsal colour is also like the one posted. Is it possible to sex ornata's by...
me too
My adult regalis female had it too- lost of co-ordination, inability to move coherently and extreme sensitivity to vibrations. She died after about 2-3 weeks of initial symptoms.
There were many theories- insecticides in food, parasites, etc no nothing conclusive. However, I think...
cool
HI Windchaser,
Thanks for the replt but I have read the thread (or tried, I'm only 56K so it's rather slow!) It would be great if someone who has done it sucessfully with P ornata tell me about it.
thanks,
Bruce
HI Guys,
I've read on this fourm that it is possible guess with fairly good accuracy the sex of P ornata and a few other pokies by the colour of their folio. If it stays dark then it is a male.
Doea anyone know at what size this can be done of P ornata? I have a dozen P ornata...
Hi guys,
how's it going? Here's an interesting question:
My A genic moulted into a mature male about a month ago. Since then he ate quite a few times and acted pretty much similar to how it was before. Then this afternoon, I found it lying on its back, like a moulting position!!?? there are...
cool
I think I'm going to have to go down that road. But I just ordered some pillbugs- T termentosa which eats mould and other debris. Do you think they will work?
What is Pedialyte?
Hi Galeogirl,
What is Pedialyte?
I use either spring water or distilled water for my T's by the way. Don't like the chlorine in tap.
Bruce
Not poop!
:} Hi beccamillott,
Don't have a camera but I'm sure it's not T poop. I'm almost 100% sure it is mould- I've seen it before in other pieces of bark from other tanks. White spots. Was wondering when you guys think it will be necessary to remove them? I normally remove them...
Hi guys,
How's it going? I've recently got a H gigas juvi. I gave it deep moist substrate and at the side of the tanks I put in a piece of tube shaped bark cut in half (creating a semi-circle so the T thinks it's a burrow but I can still see it). The gigas took to it well, modifying the soil...
I've had them too!
Hi Cirith,
I've had them too. they look just like sesame seeds except they are a dark black/ red colour and when you press them they disintergrate into goo of the same colour. I've only noticed them in water dishes, so whether they are soft because of being soaked in...
not in US
Hi James,
I'm in the UK. As far as I know, you can't get locusts in the US as they are considered a potential pest (on a large scale).
Cheers,
Bruce
Hi guys,
I recently bought about 4/5 dozen locusts for my T's. Since I can't feed them all in a few days I deceided to keep them a while and gut load them. I gave them a bit of cricket food mix and some organic zuchnni/ courgettes (so there are no pesticides)
I took a look at the locusts...
and it burrows too!
The orangy larger H mac has headed straight for the substrate and sort of digged in, unlike the other two smaller grey ones which have stayed on the bark!
Hi guys,
How's it going? I too have a H maculata ques following from fenris's post. I've just recevied 3 H mac slings- two 1cm ones from one dealer and one 2cm one from from another dealer. The smaller ones are grey in colour but the larger one has a slight orange tone, almost like my P...
